Refrigeration of Paintballs

Hi, I have found that refrigerating my paintballs for maybe an hour before i go to the field very helpful since i use very low grade red legion paintballs. I do this because it is usually 70% humidity. Are any drawbacks P.S. I almost never get breaks

When you say you "almost never get breaks", do you mean breaks on target, E.g., your balls are just bouncing off? Or do you mean breaks in your gun?

the only problems you could encounter are your paint becoming too brittle, or if your fridge is too humid, it could cause your paint to swell and become oddly shaped. if neither are the case then you're good.

Only thing I would worry about is condensation with the refrigerated paint in ambient air.

red legion field basic is as hard as a rock to begin with.. they fly good but the fill isnt good and the shells hard. I buy them for just target practice in the backyard.

I wouldnt put mine in the frig though, since as soon as they hit the warm air the air will condense and moisture will form

interesting. went to a new few last weekend. Field paint came out cold to the touch so when i asked them they said that the paint have been refrigerated. almost every single one was dimpled. shot all over the place. some guys on our teamed lucked out and got the few bags that were not inside the fridge. they looked fine. apparently the field was trying to make the paint last longer by keeping them in the fridge.

any thoughts on this? how do you keep paint fresh? how long will paint usually last?

I realize this issue has a few variables. Would appreciate any thoughts. paint is hard to come by where we play.
