I need help tonight I have my friends ion and I have never messed with one. The gun shoots and holds air but when it shoots it shoots air into the grip.
This is most likely normal. When fired, the solenoid releases air that is pressured to keep the bolt in a back position. To allow the bolt to move forward, air behind the bolt is pressurized and the pressured air in front of the bolt is released. If your friend also has a QEV installed, this will allow the air to escape faster and more efficiently while creating a more noticeable puff of air released into the trigger frame/grips.
