Tippmann Model 98 using dmags.

I have been working on this marker for a little over a week, and im very happy with how it is turning out so far, still much to do but it feeds paint fine just need to relocate the detent. Also need to pick up fsr to see how they feed.

Now the pictures.

Let me know what you guys think and ill be happy to answer any questions.

Slowly working on this marker, i spent a long time figuring out a way to remount the front bolt, since i really didn't like the way the stock bolt from the mag well worked.

I put jb weld in all the previously drilled holes for the mag well to make the magazine feed better and the ball carrier from the mag rests perfectly inline with where the bolt slides in the gun.

It might be a little hard to see but i squared up the front with the plastic stick epoxy from jb weld.

Then drill the 1/4" hole to match the back one.

I much prefer this set up and makes it look much cleaner in my opinion.

Now that its all lined up how i want it i wanted to get rid of this gap.

I was originally going to use the steelstick from jb weld and round this area out with the body but figured it would require alot of work to keep the epoxy out of the inside of the mag well since i want it to line up and match the lines on the mag well.

I finally came up with the idea to make some plates to sit flush against the gun and match the mag well so i would have an easy way to keep epoxy out of the mag well plus it would help in shaping the epoxy to the body.

All that's left for body work is to attach the plates on both sides, and alot of epoxy.

I was hoping to get some opinions from members here.

The very front of the mag well where it goes around the gun leaves about a 1/2" gap to the front. Im considering building the front to match how i build up around the mag well since i think it would look weird otherwise.

I feel like im rambling so ill stop now.

If anything is confusing ill try to clear that up just let me know.

How many rounds do those mags hold? Great idea. It just looks very large comparatively.

Mags hold 20 rounds, two stacks 10 on each side.

A little upddate,

Started to fill in the gap and shape it a little bit, also tested a concept i was contemplating out of some pvc pipe for a handguard.

I like where that fore grip can go. With straighter drilled holes!

The holes on the front grip look evenly spaced enough, you could just open them up vertically to make them look better. Over all nice job!

i just drilled the holes quickly using a cordless drill, when i make the real one ill measure everything out and use my drill press with a milling vise on it so the holes will be perfectly spaced and straight.

Was just testing the handguard idea instead of buying one with rails from an airsoft gun or something.

Here is a small update,

I got the outside all done still might change the foregrip to an airsoft one or something that isnt attached to the barrel directly.

I still have to finish the detent relocation and been waiting for a couple weeks for some back-ordered parts to get her shooting.

Once i get parts ill get a quick shooting video and finally test it out.

Been way too long without an update, life has a way of halting fun things at times.

I will take pictures later tonight, drilled space to relocate the detent but dont like how the detent now sits in the barrel a little bit, either have to cut the the front of the detent possibly making it less reliable or take some off the back and redo where i drilled everything, probably going with the second option. Also have a model 98 power tube and valve on order since old one was cracked and valve was bent causing seal issues.

Can you post a step by step on the dmag assembly? Also, If you could post what materials were used in what quantities.

Thanks, Looking to do a custom build like this for internals for a magfed scenario.
