i picked up the shotgun yesterday, it is so much fun to just shoot. while it does sting a little bit i think its a good start to getting kids into the game. i will be doing a video review at the field this weekend when i have a chrono handy.

IMO these are great but see some potential hazards that might arise in the near future.

I dont have any access to these yet and hopefully will pick some up to test out. Where I come from, nerf is quite a big thing and some of these guys get crazy with modifying their gear. Apart from aesthetics, stronger springs can be loaded onto nerf blasters to make the projectiles travel further and ultimately sting more. I can see some kids doing this if not supervised properly. The design should be that once you dismantle the splatmaster it will ultimately be broken and made unusable.

about the eye protection, yes they should have designed it standard with full face masks.

thats my 0.02 cents

Also, can anyone really compare how much it hurts when no body, that I can imagine, is going to be as pumped up as playing a point and getting shot. When I'm in a point and get lit up, I have to admit I don't feel it, but getting shot when not playing it does hurt like hell. I would have to think it is a similar situation.

I just had my family over for a birthday and had 1v1 mactches about 20 and everyone had a blast. And im the only one that plays paintball. But the best is seeing the kids play and i set up a contour camera on a mask for them.

I havent looked at taking these apart and dont plan on doing it but i could see changing the spring could easliy increase the velocity but much harder to pump.

You put a go-pro style camera on the kids while they played? That is awesome, would love to see that!

In spring airsoft guns you can bake the springs or bore holes in the piston. baking the springs in the oven not a very good idea but it does create more tension. If you bore hole in he piston, it could ultimatly crack. Or you could just stretch the spring. None of which are good ideas. But now you know what to look for, if your kid is ever messing with the oven......

It may have been said before, but I can see more 'adult' ballers picking these up to have fun with than kids.

I'm thinking about getting the shotgun and seeing what I can do to get the FPS up to a bit better range. If I can get it to hit 200 I think that'd be great for CQB

I'm figuring out a way to make the shotgun have a high capacity, when I get it. I might just figure out how to slap a hopper on it.

Just picked up the shotgun looking one and 200 paintballs...$51 to test it out but deffinately worth it to buy 1000 rounds for $20 if planning on using it alot. Its very sturdy and you really have to cock it hard to get it to shoot with any kind of power. I wish the gun was cheaper as its just something i would use as often as a frisbee or horseshoes, haha.

Will be posting a full review of it tomorrow. But long story short....its well made and would make for a couple hours of fun with kids around the neighborhood, but imo i would rather spend 50 on entry and a case

So Used these a couple of days in a row with my son (8) and have 2 shotguns and I pistol. Deff want the holster and extra clips.

I also bought some .50 cal G.I. Two Star and works great in these. ($30)
That way i can support the local Paint ball shop.
box of 2000 cost 30 bucks better paint and better price than wallmart. Just a heads up.
Discountpaintball has $25 for the case of G.I. one star ill be trying out next.

I bought two of the shotguns for my little brother's birthday last night. these things are legit, not cheap plastic like a nerf gun or super soaker. they feel pretty heavy duty for a plastic toy and the pump on it doesn't feel wimpy. overall id say it was a great buy, he took it to my little cousin's house today with my paintball masks to play, hopefully I get some good news later.

Anyone know how the Splatmasters compare to the SupaSplats?

http://www.techgroupglobal.com/prod/40/paint-blaster

I'd like to see how one of the air powered ones work. It looks like similar technology to the Super Soakers.

They even have a bow!

I remember modding one of these to shoot thumbtacks as a kid. Fun times, fun times.

Leave it alone, please.
Because we are adults and everyone was asking what the fps was and looking to up it. Don't you get how a spring gun works? More pressure in the chamber equals more fps. People can mess with the chamber, but a spring upgrade is common in airsoft guns. A firmer spring will yield more velocity. It would most likely result in premature wear, but people say the plastic seems pretty tough so it could stand up to it. How sweet would it be to have a marker shooting at 250 fps with no need of air...
