Removing Scratches from Lens

I have a couple noticeable scratches in my lens. Is it possible to buy something that could remove or lighten the scratches?

Even if you did use an ultra fine polishing compound (and a lot of elbow grease) to remove the scratches it would have a "fun house mirror" effect on the lens.

Use 80 grit sandpaper over the entire lens.
You'll NEVER have a problem with that one again.

rofl 80 grit... did you seriously try that or are u just trying to blame it on splatu so you can get a free lens. sanding with 80 grit is basically the same thing as taking steel wool and rubbing it all over your lens. try 2000+ grit

im not responsible if you fck ur lenses up even more btw. just thought id add that in this post.

dont try to get rid of it. the only way to get rid of a scratch is to scrape away the surface of the lens till the base is level with the rest of the lens. at that point, you risk your safety. just buy a new lens.

A microfiber cloth can remove fine scratches, but major scratches really cannot be removed.

Holy necro!!! Good job bringing back a 6 1/2 year old thread!

Also, as it was already stated, no. He was joking about taking sandpaper to the lens. You would have seen that if you read the thread

don't use glass cleaner to clean your lens. the chemicals eat away at the integrity of the lens
