Have a decent credit history? That's generally what they care about. They can charge you for everything else. Just make sure you look through the entire lease before you sign. Tends to help if you have co-signers whether friends or relatives.

Depends if you are going through a company that primarily or strictly rents to students or if you are going to just a standard/anyone apartment rental. Pretty easy usually if you are going the student route.

I just got done with all of this and it is relatively easy, but they usually want a cosigner (parents). Just make sure they don't **** you on the move in date. Mine is the day before classes start

easy as hell if you have a co-signer. Literally went to the place I wanted to move into with my parents, landlord showed us the place. went downstairs and signed the lease. All same day.

Also, landlords, if not renting through a realty agency/proerty manager, can be pains in the ***. They know that we have to have somewhere to live and know what the market is like for student housing. They can really screw you with problems in the house. Don't be afraid to go to the board of renters. Our AC doesn't work and the roof leaks as well as a few other more minor things and we can barely get the landlord to call us back.
