*Attention players*

We wanted to post this event thread soon to get you guys the most current updated information, with that said, we still are working out some more of the details with PSP, and the APPA system which we will announce as soon as we get it. Some of this includes information regarding player classification, player ID's, season prizes, format structures, etc. Please have patience with us as we work through the transition of becoming a PSP affiliate league. We should have everything squared away very soon.

You'll notice registration fees have increased for the Novice and Rookie Divisions. We've increased prices slightly in order to help accommodate for the added expenses of running a third field with the additional refs, and also to have a little more room for paying out for bigger 1st place prizes (now $650 for 1st Place in Rookie, $800 for the Novice division).

Just FYI, we're hoping to invest in a 2012 PSP Sup Air field and a score board soon.

Thank you for your patience as we get things lined up for event #3. We will be continually updating information so stay tuned.

*More Updates*

- Regarding player classification: since registering for the APPA system will be knew for many of our players and thus will rank you at Beginner or D5, that doesn't mean you will be eligible to enter into that division for WCPS events. The division you've currently been classified in through the pacpb system (our previous ranking system that we are going away from due to having become PSP Affiliated) will carry over through the transition. For example, if you were currently classified as a rookie player through the pacpb system, you will still be considered a rookie player (D4 player) even if APPA lists you as D5. (The special discounts from stores and fields will still carry over when we print new cards for players).

- In case you didn't hear already, we'll have a 2012 PSP bunker set for the upcoming event at DHP and all future events!

- Regarding sideline coaching: We will be allowing sideline coaching/ cheering at the event. To clarify, sideline coaching will only be allowed on the 'show-side' or one side of the field (either snake or dorito side) and only on the outside of the net. What this means is now ma and pops can help cheer on the team and/ or a designated coach. This goes along with what PSP allows. Disclaimer: this will be case by case as some venues cannot accommodate for having one full side netted for spectators/ coaches to observe and cheer. If a full netted side of the field is not available, sideline cheering/ coaching will not be allowed for that field in order for fairness of equal share of sidelines for both teams on the field.

- Make sure to sign up your team for the event through the APPA website in the link provided in the first post of this thread. There will also be directions on how to register as an individual player in the system and will generate your new player ID number. Remember, the earlier you pay your team's registration fees, the more you save. Make sure to become familiar with the APPA site which will show important registration deadline dates.

*Update*

We wanted to confirm that all players who have previously purchased an ID card for the 2012 season will not be charged the $30 annual player fee as set by APPA. If you didn't already purchase an ID card for the previous two events, you will be charged the $30 annual player fee from APPA. As part of the agreement for becoming a PSP Affiliate League, we are required to use the APPA system, hence the annual fee from using the system.

All players will need to visit the APPA website to sign up for a player ID number and to also upload a photo. Below are the instructions found on the APPA website:

1. Each player signs up for their own player ID number. If you want, you can collect the required information from players on your team and sign all of your team's players up using your email account, although it's better if each player does it themselves.

2. Once you have at least your player ID number, you can sign your team up for the event.

3. Anytime before the event registration deadline, you can go back to the team list and pay your entry fee (and player annual fee of $30), or click on your roster to add or remove players. Be aware that you don't have a spot in the tournament until your entry fee is paid, so don't wait too long or the event might sell out!

4. Log In to your player profile, upload a photo, and pay for your player registration fee so that your ID card will be ready for you at the next event. Doing this online saves you time and money, but make sure you do it before the registration deadline!

*Update*

The Rookie Division (D4) Raceto-2 format will be 8 minute matches, back-to-back points played, with 2 minute breaks between each point to refill air/ paint.

The Novice Division (D3) Raceto-4 will be 12 minute matches, back-to-back point played, with 2 minute breaks between points (like last event).

Beginner, Young Guns, and Pump Divisions Raceto-2 will not be played back-to-back points (i.e. there will be other games in between each point).

We'll have two tents for each field, serving as the "pit area" or staging area for the two teams currently on the field. Air tables will be placed very closeby to each pit area.

We understand that this new format for the series will be a lot more fast-paced than at previous events. However, we are encouraging everyone to help each other out in the pit area with re-loading pods/ refilling air. It is our hope that more teams will be able to enjoy the 'match-style' feel.

Remember, last day to get signed up and pay your registration fee is Wednesday, July 11th. Also, make sure to pay the annual player fee through APPA by the 11th to save $10 (the annual player fee through APPA is waived for those who have previously purchased a pacpb card this season).

Also, make sure to upload a picture onto the APPA website if you haven't done so already. We will be printing new ID cards and we can't print them unless we have your photo. Thanks!

55 a case x 15 cases = 825!!!!

Average 3 cases a Person for a race to 4 with st least 4 prelim games. I just don't see where the numbers match up. Best case you win the tournament and break even. Hmmmmmm

What a day for paintball! Thanks Audrey, Eddie and all other staff at Diamond Hill Paintball for helping to make this event a success. You guys busted some booty to accommodate for this event and we appreciate it.

A big thanks to Notorious and some of the Thunder guys for doing a great job of reffing and powering through the heat- you guys got a lot of compliments for all of your hard work.

Here are the results from Event #3:

Novice (D3)
1st place: Part-Time Ninjas
2nd place: 406's Finest
3rd place: Zealous

Rookie (D4)
1st place: Crossfire Alpha
2nd place: Norcal Terror
3rd place: Cartel

Beginner (D5)
1st place: NWP Sharks
2nd place: NWP Tigers
3rd place: Nightmare

Pump (Open)
1st place: SSC Pumps Inc.
2nd place: Splat Action Pump Force
3rd place: P-Town Pumpers

Young Guns
1st place: SSC Minions
2nd place: Boise Insomnia
3rd place: Crossfire Delta

Great job guys! A big thanks to all the players who have continued to support the WCPS- we always enjoy seeing you guys compete and having fun.

In case you missed our announcement, our next event (Event #4) is going to be held in downtown Salem, OR (August 25th-26th)! We've been working with the city for the last few months to get the city codes changed that would have otherwise prohibited a paintball event from occuring. We'll be bringing in two portable netted fields being shipped from PSP, with the fields being located on the plush soccer fields of Wallace Marine Park where spectators will be able to watch the action from the walkway bridge that overlooks the fields! Staging will be within the nice gravel parking lot with plenty of shade trees to keep the teams out of the heat while also allowing plenty of space for vendor booths. We're super excited for this opportunity to bring to the Northwest paintball community a very sweet venue with the added bonus for tons of spectators to view the competion with the hope that this could become an annual event location.

With that said, we want to be upfront with everyone to plan to budget for this event because there's going to be a lot more added expense in order for this event to occur. The increase cost per player will be somewhere around an added $50. Before you let that scare you, know that we need your guys's support and we are asking you guys to help be behind us in our efforts to promote the sport by bringing it to the attention of the public (we'd love to have some Billboards around town to advertise for the event)! We understand that money is tight for many, but one way to look at it is there's about a month and a half to stash away $10 a week (i.e turn-down that juicy hamburger from your favorite restuarant and save the money instead! ) In all serious, we do need your support to make this event a go. Please consider planning to play in the event, and you can count on us for making every effort for this event to be a big hit.
