Another part of self-discipline is being able to not smoke weed everyday.

Sounds like you could use more self-discipline then mate.

Last day at the beach, this previous weekend, my brother was heckling me like no other to goto the pier with him. Not a single thought was given to him and his pleas were barely heard, I was too focused on my task of LSAT preparation.

I have found myself many times this summer researching and pondering about self-discipline, willpower, motivation, negative impacts of the subconscious, anxiety and rationalization. Today I spent the entire day cooped up in my dad's house, I did not goto the gym and I only left to buy new highlighters. I spent the first part of my morning looking over nootropics and making some nootropic purchases. Then for the second half of my day I spent 6 hours meticulously going through my LSAT prep book with pen, highlighter and pencil. While this probably sounds boring to most people, this day, like many of the days prior, was one of the more fulfilling days in my life. My self-discpline becomes better everyday. With that studying becomes more easy and distractions become easier to avoid. I have not played a video game since the start of May. My facebook and forum frequenting time has gone down every single day also. I most certainly don't take my time over the summer for granted, as I enjoy every second I spend improving myself. Though I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming semester of school. With a decent amount of maturity finally instilled in me and a renewed belief in my intellect, I am confident that I will end this Fall 2012 semester with 18 hours of 4.0's and a =/>175 on the LSAT.

It is also important to at least convince yourself that it is something you want to do.

Right now I enjoy reading, studying and learning more than anything, so that is what I do.

Few things are more annoying than people being like, "Hey, I'm coming to town, want to hang out?"
Then standing you up.

I know what you mean there, but I feel like I can only do that with certain classes. The classes that I genuinely thought would be useful or interesting, I paid much more attention and put much more effort into the work. The other required GE classes I still do well in, but I don't give much of a **** about them and only work on them out of class if I really, really have to. Can't wait to get all of my GE classes out of the way so I can focus on things that I actually want to learn about.

Story of my post-high school life. Every summer/Christmas when everyone comes back home, 10-20 people holler at me on facebook about hanging out or getting a drink or something. I actually hear from maybe 1-2 of them once the time actually comes. Very annoying.

Eh, I don't especially have time to put extra effort into every class. If I can get an A in a course that I don't care about without putting in effort, why not?

this, i've always found to be huge. when it's not a chore to do work for school, it's much easier to get that work done. taking a forced-interest in something makes this much easier.

took the girlfriend out to Olive Garden tonight

ordered the 2 for $25 deal. 2 entrees, then choice of 2 desserts or 2 appetizers.

then as our server started walking away i had to explain he hadn't taken my girls order yet.
