Next Upgrade?

I've had an ION for a number of years. The board finally crapped out on me, and now I can either replace it or find a new gun.

So the question is, what do you upgrade from an ION to? Or should I just repair or replace what I have?

Oh sorry, should mention I play casually (intermediate groups and with groups of friends) and an occasional woods ball game.

You can basically upgrade everything that is on, and inside, an Ion. So we can't really decide what you should upgrade. What you need to do is look at your gun and decide if you were happy with the gun when it was operational. If so, figure out what you dislike most about the gun. The gun is a great starter gun and works well if you don't play everyday. If you weren't happy with it, go to a shop and ask a few questions regarding the amount you play and what skill level you are to figure out what gun will best suit your needs.

I have 3 ions 2 of them woodsball and 1 speedball and also a mini. I have virtue and techt bolts in all of them for besides 1 woodsball ion. I love my ions and think virtue is the way to go on boards becaus of the waranty and endless modes. But it is all up to you and what you want.

Is the ION XE any kind of real upgrade from the regular ION?

The Ion XE is the same as the ion with the exception of the Breech, feedneck, and body kit. The Ion XE has a larger diameter feedneck, the breech has no threadings for the feedneck (feedneck screws into the body), and the body has the advantage of being a B.O.B. body. Other than that, they are exactly the same as an Ion.
