Swanie08's Past And Present Collection, Story Included!
And it all started with my 98 Custom Pro w/ ACT back in 2009. A freshman/sophomore in a community college, a weekend warrior with my friends, and just newly discovered the sport and dove head first into the game.
After only playing a handful of times, 3-4 max with this gun, I was off to finish up my Bachelors at a different university.
Fortunately enough, my school had a semi-active paintball team. The NMU Wildcats. Which is where speedball took precedence over woodsball for me.
Next up, my broken (sold in working condition) G3 acquired off eBay in a package deal. The gun never truly worked which I assumed was the regulator, but I got a set of Proto Axis Pros, a 68/45 Crossfire Tank with 3 years left in hydro, some off-brand pod pack, a Vlocity Viewloader (best hopper ever), some random pods on bid for like $275. I couldn't pass it up. The eBay seller reimbursed me $60 to buy a new Bob Long reg, piece of junk still never worked...
Shortly after, the Custom Pro was sold to a friend who now thoroughly enjoys it.
Somehow, my friend sold the G3 for a V1 Prophecy and like $60 cash. Massive loss although I had the rest of the gear. The same friend managed to buy me my next beauty. An Infinity Legend. Which I later paid him back for
It originally came with the CP shorty reg, Rhino Spring, Tadao Board, and the CP ASA. I was annoyed to all hell with my wookie sized hands trying to hold the gun. Bob Long ASA/Reg were in order to make things inline. I had to get a hose replaced too, blew that one day, sad panda. Thanks to my friend though, who basically fronted me a new working gun, this was truly one of my favorites.
My first tournament ever, although I'm not in the video, my friend Rando is in the snake and we were practicing the night before the 2011 NCPA #4 Ben Waring Memorial Event. I was using my trusty Legend, in semi, because I had no idea how the hell to turn it to PSP 12.5. Manuals are hard to read Good thing the Boom refs didn't care too much
I couldn't stop there, had to get something newer, lighter, more efficient. The hell was I talking about? I traded my loaded Legend and a Pepperstix barrel kit, for this heap
Not bad right? A Creed, solid poppet. I knew what I was getting into, a V1 with no eyes Stoopid. Eric from Vanguard, back when he worked for the U.S. portion of it, managed to scrounge up a set of eyes, from where, hell if I know, but I was grateful. Along with tuning up and fixing the LPR of course. $100+ later in repairs and I was good to go!
My second tournament ever, balled so hard in a Team Boom 3-Man tournament down at Commando Paintball in Little Suamico, WI.
Me and my two best buds took 7th out of 9th in our bracket and managed to forgot that we had one match to go. Oh well, 2nd tournament ever, can't hate myself.
Hmm...
Nostalgia, knowing I had one of maybe ten V1 Creeds left due to Vanguard failing at the the first round of Creeds. I was proud to say I owned one of the few remaining ones for a short period of time. My brief shooting video that I made in order to trade for the next gun.
Next, my prize.
Oh how I miss this bad boy, truly my most favorite gun that I've had thus far. My loaded Vice that I got straight for my V1 Creed. Shocking deal eh? Hell, it felt good to have a working/reliable gun for once in my life. A few months later, I got bored with it, wanted to try some inlines and so I did.
Yes I know, no trigger, I've got a Boss Infamous Bolt and Element Trigger Pin on the way. I had to bash the living Jesus out of the current pin in order to make way for the new Element Pin. Worst idea ever to make a trigger, semi-removable (with massive amounts of force, a blow dryer, a punch, and a helpful brother ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, some real MacGyver **** I know) when you're anal about trying to clean all the caked up paint behind the trigger. I'm finally happy with what I've got......for a few months at least. Virtue Eyes, Lurker Eigenbarrel .684, Shockwave Board I already installed with a Boss bolt and trigger pin on the way.
My most recent addition to my collection is this sexy looking CCM S6. Ever since I moved to Virginia I decided to get into the pump scene and I wish I would've started there a long time ago. It is so buttery smooth and so satisfying when one-balling people with electros that I truly couldn't ask for much more.
The only remaining pieces of gear that I have from the G3 eBay purchase are the Proto Axis Pros (which my girlfriend uses), the 68/45 Crossfire tank (which recently got traded for a 07/11 Ninja 50/4500 stubby), and the pods.
Along the way, I acquired a wealth of gear. Starting with a Vlocity Viewloader, then a V1 Prophecy, a Pepperstix Barrel Kit, an Empire Hinge pod pack, Empire Elbow and Knee/Shin pads, a Pinokio hopper w/ extended cone, a V-Max, a set of Vforce Grillz, Sly Front Player Arm Pads, a CP .685 Gloss Red barrel, and finally my Rotor, a 07/11 Ninja 50/4500 stubby, and a Valken 3+4 pod pack (freebie).
And this is where my story ends for now. My parents think I'm crazy for (my girlfriend supports me as long as the cash is there) spending my money in a bottomless pit of a sport. Hell if I care, I came to shoot people, tell stories, and bs about all the good times I've had playing the sport. I've played soccer for 16 years, and nothing compares to the 4 years of paintball I've played. I'll continue to play for many years, probably trade for another gun, and keep the vicious cycle going. Hopefully you've enjoyed my story
Always remember, tools and a manual are your friend, help the younger kids fix their guns so they can get back on the field and have fun, and continue to introduce new people to the sport. If it wasn't for the older guys helping out the younger kids, then we'd have nobody to bring into the sport.
So the next time you see a younger kid (13 and under) behind a bunker, on the side lines, in a hail of gunfire, trying to figure out how to work his gun, take a minute to help him out or lend him your gun until you can figure out what went wrong with his. It shouldn't matter if some younger kid is borrowing your $100-$1500 marker for 5 minutes while you figure out what's wrong with his gun/hopper/tank, what matters is that kid is having the time of his life and thankfully someone is helping him out. It'll make a world of difference for that one kid and make him want to come back to the sport.
He's so good he doesn't even need a trigger .verry cool story kinda like mine ..but I have a revi now

Bravo, bravo, bravo!!!! This was an amazing paintball biography! I absolutly loved reading every single moment you wished to share! I hear you about so much meaning, in so little time. My time is much more extended, but the few times a year that I get to actually make it out to the field are just so memorable. Your final thoughts are just gold though...in my experience, no matter how excited you are for that next game, or no matter how far you actually make it out the field for another round, if someone needs a hand, has a question...no matter how insignificant it may seem...it makes a world of difference when you can just shut down everything you personally want to do at that moment, and to help out someone just starting to experience this sport for the first time. Everyone needs to feel the need to come back to paintball and to share that excitement that I have for this sport! Just glad to hear it from another player as well! Oh and that Vlocity's are something special...your so damn right on that point as well!!!
Thanks for your time man, it was well worth reading in this forum for sure!

Thanks, I definitely appreciate it
It took awhile to write, but I figured I had to get my story right for others to enjoy. Hopefully I'll be able to continue my story in the future!

It was definitely a nice shooter when I had it, I was just worried about the lack of parts for the gun.
i wonder where that lurker barrel came from...
i would make one of these, but i'd rather put the effort in to building a b/s/t thread. i'll be up north again, bro!!!
