I was told I would have to mill to make it fit the eye covers on the gun

you should not need to mill anything, most likely just a grove so the eye wire can go through the frame

I know I'm late to the game, but there are questions unanswered.
You can use any eyes that are compatible with eblades (reflective, by the way).
Also, you only need to drill 2 holes and tap one of them to fit a screw to make it e-bladable.
Work's pretty simple. If you want to just time your cocker properly, use a high end loader, and run eyeless (what I do.), then there's no need to drill anything for eyes.

^^if its an x5 its probably already been fitted for race eyes. even the mechs came with eye covers, they just go into the frame in a different spot than eblades do. and e2's will work with break beam eyes. eclipse programmed it into the boards with the intention of releasing a break beam kit later on, but never did....so no need to modify anything for the eblade eye.
not sure where it'd line up with the eblade frame...you might be able to tuck them in under the grip panel and not have to cut anything.

Totally wrong..
The X5 has dual detentes and is drilled for race eyes (or break beam as that is what race uses) so if you try to put an eblade eye on it it will look like total crap, and you will have to remove the right side eye cover.
You will need to mill out the frame so that the eye covers can dump the eye wire into the frame in the right spot.
Also NEVER recommend some one drill for an eblade. 99.99% of the time they will f--- it up and ruin the body.

If I was you I would put a fast hopper on the gun and go blind. If you are capping at 12.5 you will be fine anyways.
