Even if you upgrade the suspension and hitch, the GVWR and towing rating is still the same. Only someone like an upfitter, that can legally recode a vehicle, can change that. At which point they issue a new GVWR/GCWR sticker.

The ecoboost has more Hp and torque the the bigger brother v8 version. I two a boat...so it was a no brainer for me. I get roughly 21-24 mpg (no tow) normal driving conditions.
Are you dumb? I got my 7.3 for substantially less than that.

I don't disagree on what they legally can do. Your tow rating is still the same and illegally exceeding it is, well, just that.

He got it for 33 out the door.

Also, sticker at 48 is for the Limited IIRC.

I got mine for $16k, out the door.

My last one, the King Ranch, $20k.

Why would you ever pay that much for a 150 is beyond me, a 6 cylinder nonetheless.

I would rather have a 6 cylinder ecoboost than any v8(truck-wise) out there right now...

you get just as much, if not more, power, torque, and towing capactiy, while still getting the same, if not better gas mileage. But, since its a TT v6, you have MUCH better opportunities to squeeze more power out of it

cummins is a 6?

Wait a minute.

All those trucks that Rampage listed, were those diesel or gassers?

If they're diesels then I'm an ***.

Gas? if those numbers are from diesels, then the ecoboost is MUCH better than expected

I'd rather have a cummins with an 8ft bed. Yeah, they are all gas.

Gas, but you can get a '12 6.7 for $37k

I have to lol at everyone who even had a slight inkling that those might be diesels.

Yeah, thought they were gas.

Anyway, we'll wait and see what happens when people really start modding the ecoboosts.

Slightly off topic, but we have several Cummins machines at work. But, they are about the size of a large printer, and they count money

Still want to hear why you would prefer a ecoboost over a 8cyl gas or diesel.

I would prefer a diesel to an ecoboost, but I'd rather an ecoboost over an 8cyl gas.

Why turbo 6 over N/A 8? Because a slight change in tune can make it have almost the gas mileage of a v6, and then you can change it right back and make more power than the v8s. Especially if people start getting into modding them. Porting out the stock turbos and tossing bigger compressor wheels into them can add a metric ****ton of power for relatively low money. Turbo motors just respond better to a few small mods, generally, IMO.

I was not talking about diesels either, btw. But I still would probably prefer an ecoboost V6 to a Duramax or Powerstoke. No reasoning, just preference of not having to fill up with diesel. But, I would take a Cummins over an ecoboost

'12 Ecoboost V6:
365 hp (272 kW) @5500 rpm, 420 lbft (569 Nm) @2500 rpm

Are we counting all 8 cylinders? Or rough price range? I'll keep it under $37k

'12 F-250 6.7:
Current*: 400 HP @ 2,800 RPM, Current*: 800 lb-ft @ 1,600 RPM

For the price, the Ecoboost is the most idiotic buy. It is still a 150, which limits its tow capacity.

Yeah, how's the gas mileage of that 6.7?

Everything I've mentioned so far relates to the flexibility of the turbo motors.
