It is partially on Swisher, but the situation makes all the difference. With only one out all A Rod had to do was fly out. With two outs you need a hit.

How many strikeouts does Granderson have? How clutch has Texeria been?
Yankees are unable to hit the Orioles pitching. Pretty much Ichiro and Ibanez are the only ones doing anything. I don't think you're giving nearly enough credit to the O's pitching staff and bullpen.

I've given credit to the O's all year long. You can't not make contact in that situation though. Not to mention A Rod has the highest strikeout rate in the majors since the beginning of September.

No where near as disappointed as I thought I would be. I'd have loved to go further but this is a team some analysts pegged at being lucky to break 70 wins, and instead they battled it out for months, and made it to the playoffs.
