And then they'll have an incredible SS/2B combo in Jurickson Profar and Elvis Andrus, Kinsler can move to the OF to replace Hamilton. Mike Olt will replace Michael Young who has the 11th worst OPS+ in the AL right now.
You're assuming the Rangers will just give up when they have to get new players?
this is weaksauce

No, I'm saying the rangers are clearly good enough to win now, allocating funds to the future rather than the present isn't the proper course for this team. And kinsler is already 30 as well.

Then why not say that rather than what you did say?
You're presenting a false dichotomy. It's not like Yu Darvish has prevented them from actively trying to add pieces now, hurr trying to trade for cliff lee or becket or shields or whatever rumor of the moment pops up.

they aren't the yankees. Darvish absolutely has hindered their prospective activity in the FA market. If they weren't worried about money, they'd probably still have lee, wilson and would have signed hamilton by now.

But Nolan says he doesn't believe Hamilton is worth the money and signing him to a big contract could hinder prospective activity...
Please provide one piece of objective evidence that Darvish has hindered prospective activity in a free agent market that isn't even existent yet.

Well, Chris Johnson was a good acquisition today anyway.
Also, good work Mets!

that would be very dumb depending on who they give up. Like a good pickup but not if they pay what they'll probably have to.

I don't know how Arizona would afford either of them. If they somehow get Lee he's due like $88 million the next three years. No way they can afford that, so Philadelphia would have to cover like half that money.
And they better not be trading Justin Upton or Trevor Bauer for a rental player the rest of the year.
They also shut down Bauer for rest his next two or so starts, wonder if he is gone. I'm sure some team out there loves his potential.

That's what I mean. Losing Upton, Bauer, and whoever else it might take probably isn't worth it even if philly covers half the money.
I can't imagine what it'd take for Felix.

I don't think you understand what average means.
It cost 112 million and he's signed for five Years. Wilson signed for less.

Just read this right after I posted, so that's why I edited.
"12:46pm: The Diamondbacks are not currently discussing a deal with the Cubs involving Upton and Garza, reports MLB.com's Steve Gilbert. It was only Olney's speculation in the first place."
Stephen Drew should be gone though. Not sure why you have to wait till the last second.
Craig Breslow to Boston for Matt Albers and Scott Podsednik. What the **** was the point of that?

Dempster to the Rangers for minor league third baseman Christian Villanueva and minor league right-hander Kyle Hendricks.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Dempster is going to struggle in Texas. He doesn't throw as many ground balls as he used to and his LD and FB percents are up. Wrigley was forgiving. Arlington will not be.
Still, Rangers didn't give up a whole lot. The Braves were offerring more.

You're both wrong, clearly the Dbacks are going to the world series after that trade wizardry they just pulled.
