the only problem with the rbi is you could be getting lots of hits but your team could be ****ty and never be on base. or you could be a leadoff hitter so you probably won't get to hit with as many people on base as a number 5 hitter would.

but rbi could also be a good stat at predicting how clutch you are as a hitter.

To further my point about how amazing Verlander is

The second most consecutive starts by a pitcher that goes 6 or more innings is a tie between Jordan Zimmermann of the Nationals and Ryan Vogelsong of the Giants. They have 16 each.

Verlander is first. He has 59

And I think RBIs are rather underrated. Seriously, you're scoring runs. Scoring runs = wins. Some guys are just better at it than others. Though I'm sure that somone has a formula involving subracting home runs and blah blah blah
My problem with RBI is it measures context just as much as performance. Same thing with WAR. Only with WAR the actual stat is so contrived you don't know what you're dealing with.

So I guess Bauer just throws **** everywhere, a well thought out plan.

Aaron Hill should really be winning the final vote for the NL. Probably should have been the starter for the NL.

I went to the A's game last night. It is $40 to sit 6 rows behind the dugout. At the Giants stadium $40 gets you a bleacher seat in left field.

Three of the Dbacks now hitting at the .300 level now, probably will get swept by the Padres. Pitching went to **** when the hitters got hot. Upton and Young aren't even playing that well currently.

Going tomorrow. Better bring my Yukon Jack. If they're going to get hammered by the Padres, I might as well be hammered.

Goldschmidt is a surprise to me though. Thought he would have sophmore slump for sure.

AJ not making the Allstar game is such a joke. Leading catchers in RBI's, second in HR's and OPS? Too bad, we'll put ****ty fagoli on the team because he plays in texas and homo wieters because he's young.

The home-run Zim hit in the third was pure silliness. Pure silliness. MadBum needs to learn to throw less strikes sometimes to make him less vulnerable to hard contact.

Look at this swing. so silly.

He stayed back on a bad changeup or some sort of breaking ball and smashed it oppo field. Looks pretty standard to me.

This is why I figured the Nats would handle him. They do the same thing to Cliff Lee. They just go up taking swings.

Now, if you had still had Sanchez, he would have looked amazing today ...

Yep. This is the classic healthy Zimmerman

Not a bad pitch. They were flying to right field.

Yeah certain teams take advantage of that tendency of MadBum. He should adjust since it has happened twice in his part 4 outings.

He can't. It's who he is. Cliff Lee has had that "issue" his whole career. He throws strikes. He throws them virtually all the time. Sometimes he gets too much of the plate.

Oh I understand that. By adjust I meant trying to steal more first pitch strikes. I'd also like to see more good breaking balls that die into the dirt on 1 and 2-strike counts. His stuff can have some nice, deceptive movement and i think he'd be able to increase his strikeouts. but we can't make our pitchers into gods sadly.
