Is Beckett pitching tonight? I want the Rangers to pad their stats a little.

No, but it honestly doesn't matter. Should be an offensive game

Well, at least the last couple of games made it impossible for the Mets to be buyers.

Sure would be nice for LA or SF to lose a few while the Dbacks play some bad teams.

Nats always play down to bad teams. Kind of wish they weren't about to start a host of games against sub .500 teams

Alex Rioscould be a dark horse MVP candidate. If he maintains his play very well could finish 320/370/530 with 25+ hrs, 90+ rbis and 25+ stolen bases while playing a good right field. Probably not going to win it with those numbers but top 3 would be fairly likely.

Josh Hamilton will have much better numbers than that. He pretty much already does except for his average and it's just under. 300 right now but he's been in a slump lately so it should go back up. He already has 28 and probably 80 RBI and good defense as well.

I said he's not winning it with those numbers. I'm talking about receiving votes and recognition.

He might get a couple. Mainly from Chicago based writers.
But Trout is running away with this thing. The guy is hitting like crazy, he's hitting for power and he's providing really good defense. Hamilton is the only one in the coversation.
Now, I suppose Trout could come back down to earth. Pitchers might start trying to pitch him high instead of low. His BABIP is over .400, suggesting that he's on an extended hot streak. Then again, he could just be really good. He's hitting a good amount of GB and LD. With his speed, he should have a high average. And the power numbers are legit.

I agree. If Hamilton were to get his average back up to at least .315 and end up with 35 and 130 then it will be close IMO.

you realize there are second and third place votes right?
A line of 320/360/530 with 25/100/25 would be pretty impressive. Better than pedroia the year he won it, and certainly worthy of recognition.

Just saw something on ESPN about Rivera possibly being back before the season is over. His rehab doc said he was ahead of schedule. I don't think it would be crazy to rule him out especially if it's his non planting leg. Welker was back within 6-7 months and he was having to sprint and make cuts on it.

Welker wasn't in his 40s

I wonder how the conversation goes every time Terry Collins tells Jordany Valdespin he's gonna pinch hit for someone.
"Oh, OK. You just want me to hit a home run again?"

Rangers better get Cole Hamels. I wonder who they're going to give up. I like Murphy and he is a solid player, but he just doesn't get the time he deserves. I hope we keep Gentry because he's done very well this season. .340 batting average.

For Hamels, I'm guessing two of three: Perez, Ott, Profar
They also might want Martin or Gentry.
