Trouble discovering my major

Hey pbn!
My name is Archie and I go to college of dupage in Illinois. It is a community college that I am currently attending. This is my first year of college. I've been trying to think of a major for the longest time since high school but my mind is not set yet. I get too insecure when it comes to choosing a major. I just don't want to have a career for the rest of my life and hate going to every morning. I also want a career that is steady on the money. I write this today to ask you guys for a favor. What major should I choose? Any suggestions? And lastly, What should I study for the certain major that you are suggesting?

My Current interest are:
Astronomy
Computers
Brain psychology
Maybe business

Please help me out. Looking for serious response.

Any specific part of business that you prefer? Accounting is great job security. It's not very sexy though.

You don't have to be completely set don't you worry! If you choose to start on a major just change it if you aren't enjoying it! I've had 4 different majors and am starting my 5th year. I started with pharmacy, then sports management, then marketing, now organizational management with a concentration in marketing. Try classes and see what you enjoy, then go from there!

woooo i went to cod state for a couple years, now im at isu.

should try and work at a place that interests you the most. just because you got your degree in that field doesnt mean you'll always be working in it. when i was working at a dealership 2 of my bosses graduated from cod with a degree in computer science and hes a service manager. makes 6 figures as of right now.

I wouldn't recommend any engineering fields unless you're hungry for it. Reputable programs aggressively weed out people that aren't fully committed, and the math/physics involved in most disciplines can be overwhelming.

Com sci is generally a pretty tough field. If you aren't that interested by now you'll probably be significantly behind the people that are.

Pick something you love doing. Seriously. I would not worry too much about the pay it brings in. If you love doing it a) it wont feel like work and b) you'll be practicing it enough to become great at it and people will pay for your skills.

I know this is an older post, but if you are familiar with computers and like learning about them, honestly I think that is the best bang for your buck
With learning programming, networking, or sometype of Report language(SQL, Rave, ETC) you can make a lot of money with minimal investment in your tuition.
I do IT for a Financial company and all my directors make 6 figures and most of them only have a 2 year degree in some type of computer field.

But like you said earlier you don't want to go to your job and hate it so it is just something to think about.
