I've seen plenty of girls who are technically inclined, and even more who aren't as retarded as you make them out to be. Granted, some girls might not want to do a ton of maintenance, but who ever said an ego is hard to maintain?

Id go with the etha, affordable gun and also a good learner gun. I wouldnt go out and buy anything expensive until you know if she really likes the game.

I'm not talking about her level of intelligence or ability to perform maintenance. Clearly I don't know you personally. I can only presume as to why you are not understanding my point. Perhaps it's because you've never had a girlfriend who asked to take part in your hobbies/activities ONLY because you were doing them but had truly no interest in them for her self.
I'm just say that until the OP states otherwise, that could be the situation here. "I wanna go because you are going and I want to take part in the things you like."
Seriously though, I think that until she shows that she really wants to make this sport a hobby of her own get her an Azodin. $400 is too much to pay, IMO, for a marker that she might never pick up after going out 2 or 3 times

I was actually surprised to see this thread still going lol. After talking to her more about the "feel" of the gun. We had two completely different definitions. When she told me she liked how the G4 felt, I thought she meant the type of trigger mechanism being used in each, but she just meant the trigger itself. She liked the shape of the G4 trigger over the mini but once she shot one with a similar trigger she liked the mini more, so I bought her a used one. Also to make things easier parts wise (and cause she wanted us to have the same gun, I know, I'm a sucker ) I traded the shocker for a mini.
I agree with Soul's point of view on this. She's never played and may not play again, who knows. She's showing huge interest know but she may get shot once and say screw this I'm done or be like hell yeah, we're doing this every weekend. One thing though, she's very meticulous with her stuff. She's already shown great interest in cleaning and taking care of her gun. She's already messed with the dwell settings, learned to turn the eyes off/on, change firing modes etc etc. Shes not the most technical person but she learns fast. I've taken my mini apart a couple times now and lubed practice fired it and I can say maint and disassembly is very easy and perfect for her. I'm sure I made the right choice.
(Excuse any spelling mistakes. I'm at work and trying to leave ASAP)

Being meticulous will serve her well. Seems that 9 out of 10 gun issues is user error, and a lot of those issues can be chalked up to lack of standard maintenance. She doesn't have to go over the gun with a q-tip and magnifiying glass after every day of play. But keeping gun/gear in order is something that HAS to be done, even on the easiest to care for guns. Congrats to your girl n you, hope she sticks with it.

Thanks. She's really pumped to play. We got our tanks filled yesterday and ate going to target practice tomorrow. She wants to get use to shooting it before we play.

Cool. Hope she does actually take to it. It's not often that I see women out there on the field. Even rarer that I see women out there who really enjoy the sport and play heavily. Would be nice to see more females take to it.

If she has small hands, invert mini for $200. If she has bigger hands, get her an axe on craigslist for 300. it shoots better than the etha/etek3, smoother, no macrolines. if she gets bored, re-flip it on craigslist and get your money back.

My girlfriend loves my mini... The paintball gun too.
In all seriousness. The mini is a great gun and I'm sure she would do well.
