new to pump.

so i want to start playing woodsball with a pump since its not really fun playing with my etha.

but im debating on going with the Empire Sniper, or getting a WGP Triology and putting a pump kit on it. which one is going to perform the best and which is going to be easier to maintain since i am new to pumps and have never had an auto-cocker before.

In both cases the empire is noticeably better. With the trilly you need a new reg as the stock blows, new trigger frame setup as the stock is odd, go with a single trigger for pumps, both have eh stock barrels and the trilly needs an asa other than the duckbill.

The empire can be teched by you also, but the trilly is almost useless to self modify. The trade off is of course price. I cashed in like a whore when wgp dumped a huge volume of trilogy markers on the market, I got three sports and a select fire competition pro for all around $120 total. For a cheap pump the trilly is fine, but no comparison with the empire. I love my trilly I kept before making a profit on the rest, but the single detent design and how it operates I get Ab occasional chop which is absurd with a pump. I loan that pump and use my empire religiously.

For a test run on pumps, try a trilly but for a great experience and determination to stick with it, grab the empire.

You can pick up plenty of quality snipers in the BST here for less than an Empire Sniper.

It's really hard to beat the value of the Empire Sniper as it comes new. What it really boils down to is the amount of money you're working with.

Why drop the money on an empire sniper if ur not sure youll even like pump play.

Id recommend the trilly route. Or purchasing a "sniper" from the bst on here. Theres nothing wrong with trili frame so i wouldnt change that right a
way, i also wouldnt change the duckbill right away... whats the point unless ur switching around tanks all day long. Id focus on getting a pump kit, barrel, then a reg. All can be done for around 100$ plus the original 40$ for a used trili. 140$ for a decent pump gun. If you like pump play after shooting the trili then buy the empire or jump up to the ccm world.

A Sniper retains a significant amount of its value. There should be no problem selling if he decided he didn't like it.

what about an old 2k2 or 2k3 cocker that he can convert to a sniper? i picked up my cocker for 250 and it shoots great, probably better than an empire sniper does. in my opinion cockers, not trillies, are te best option for going pump with

The snipers are going to drop fast in price. You want to talk about retaining value? Buy a trilly for $50, put a $35 pump kit on it and sell it for $120

There isn't really anything to "time" when you put a pump kit on it. The pneumatics/front block comes off and the pump kit screws on. Timing is pull back, push forward, squeeze trigger.

I know, but that doesn't come with a barrel kit, autotrigger, stick feed, etc.

I'm going to go with Castro on this one. If you have to money go with the Empire Sniper. It's a solid marker out of the box and comes with a nice barrel kit.

One thing that is frustrating for new pump players is when you get roll outs and learn you need to buy a new barrel and/or kit (yes you can also put tape in the barrel).

Also many converted cockers aren't very smooth and you end up spending more money trying to "fix" it.

Now, if you are on a budget and like to tinker and have patience then converting your own is very rewarding.

yea i think im going to pick up the empire. and maybe pick up a cocker and convert it when i get more of a grasp on pumps. just want something that is reliable and fun and the empire seems to be the better choice for me. and i like the barrel kit and the pistol loader(i think thats what their called?) that comes with the empire.

It's called a stick feed or stock class feed.

Good luck with your decision, and welcome to pump.

I mentioned the empire as the golden choice but one thing being left out is the azodin kaos pump. The v2 had a reg now and for the minimal investment it is the best pump stock. I have the empire and love it but sometimes to let people try pump I let them use it to get a good feel for a good pump instead of a pile and be turned off by it. I then switch to my LE kaos pump and have a great time as I would the empire, but the feel is not quite as good. For the money, kaos is absolutely amazing. Adding a .678 lurker Eigenbarrel helps also and boom! Ball on ball
