For the cars, I have a 2008 Nissan Altima, and it's pretty cheap/reliable/good gas mileage. They're pretty cheap used these days.

But, I really like the new diesel VW Jetta.

Thinking: Used WRX or a used (or new) Focus ST

I've heard good things about the new Jetta Diesels. Are Altimas reliable? I literally haven't heard anything about Nissan.

I have 50k+ miles on mine, with only oil changes. They're pretty good overall for reliability according to reviews, too.... Which was why I bought mine in the first place.

....and it's made in Tennessee, so go America.

Edit: and it's got 5-star crash ratings.

I've got a 250 hp subaru outback wagon with a turbo. Totally necessary for driving at the high altitudes here. Yokohama geolander tires and skid plates for gravel roading, and a set of steel wheels with blizzaks to change out in the winter.
Working on making a custom cut out foam tray under the trunk compartment to hold my rifles, jack bauer style.

Merrell offers a 50% discount apparently but the sign up is kind of ridiculous.

Gas fluctuates between 3.30 and 3.70 here. Sucks me and you have to drop 89 in our Hemi's. Most I've paid so far to fill up was $90.00.

Pump usually stops me at $100 and I have to re-swipe my card.. usually It'll be right around $80 or $90 though I let it get really low this time before I filled up.. got a 32 gallon tank lol

I put 89 in my **** almost every time except sometimes I'll do 87.. my manual says 89 is recommended but 87 is 'acceptable'.. I honestly feel like it runs a little smoother on 89 though it could be dependent on where I get the gas from.

edit: got a jump tomorrow.. I feel like I've forgotten how to PLF almost completely lmao... wish me luck

Jumping St. Mere? I heard it's all combat equipment now?

There was a guy in the sage class after mine that jettisoned his ruck. Destroyed about 150k of commo equipment. I heard after that errybody was learning how to properly exit and assemble.

I don't even think mine says 87 is acceptable. I only have a 25 gallon tank. I'd cry if I had a 32.

Yeah we're jumping St. Mere but it's daytime hollywood since it's the first jump in the Q ... we had a guy jettison everything including his weapon during Sage lmao they got to the G base like a day later than scheduled 'cause they did hands across to look for it.. found it and it was still fine

That's pretty funny. No, in the course, it's almost all Hollywood. Although we may do a equipment jump in SUT? Oh well, we'll see. And in my short time jumping, I've already seen some hilarious jettison stories.

By the way DMM, wait til you jump that CASA. You'll actually like jumping.
