Check into the 6th FJR. They have a couple of spots open for that kind of player.

If you'd like to stay with the Allied Army, consider getting
in touch with either the 101st Airborne, or the OSS. Both
units are seeking well qualified snipers. If you need any
help reaching either unit please let me know and I'll make
sure they get back with you.

Sincerely,

The legend of 'Wheaties'

Story told by: superdad

502nd Military Police

The Legend of Wheaties

On July 22, 1991, the Davis family (of humble origins and modest
means) was blessed with their second boy-child. They named him
Ben Cody (Davis that is).

As a young teenager, Ben became friends with a few somewhat older
boys who enjoyed the game of paintball. Of course, Ben wanted to
play paintball with them. These new friends set him up with some
hand-me-down equipment, and included him in the group as often
as they could. They also tagged him with the moniker Wheaties.
Why? We'll never know.

In 2007 these friends found the paintball event known as Oklahoma
D-Day and made plans to attend. Wheaties could not come up with
the funds to go with them... for two years. In 2009, after getting a
co-op job through his high-school and joining the Illinois Air National
Guard, Wheaties had the means to accompany his friends to D-day.
By this time his friends had formed a new D-Day unit known as the
502nd Military Police Company, Wheaties joined them.

Toward the end of the big game, Wheaties and 2 other members
of the 502nd were just in the trees between the top of Omaha
Beach and the Colleville Church when Wheaties suddenly shouted
an expletive. The friends, of course, wondered what was wrong.
Wheaties held up his new Alpha Black so the others could see...
it was missing the barrel. Dejected, Wheaties started to walk to
the dead-zone, thinking his day was over. One of the friends
stopped him, "You still have your grenades don't you? Here take
mine as well." The other friend gave his grenades over as well.
"If we can get you up to that berm by the road, can you get
grenades into the top of the church?" A plan was forming... The
friends would advance under their own cover fire with Wheaties
close behind (he was smaller then them) using them to shield
him, and they would all advance to the berm.

They took off running as fast as they could. The friends firing
as fast as possible. The opposing team in the church began
returning fire, the friends were hit and went down, but Wheaties
made it to the berm. As the friends were walking of the field to
the dead-zone, they watched Wheaties throwing grenade after
grenade.

On their way off the field, the friends met some members of the
899th Tank Destroyer Battalion, The Blackcats. The friends told
them where they had left Wheaties and asked them to look after
him. These Blackcats found Wheaties behind the berm where the
MPs had left him, added him to their group and together they all
made a grenade charge on the Colleville flag station.

Wheaties and the entire 502nd Military Police Company (there
were only 4 of them in 2009) were awarded the Allied Army's
Bronze Star for this and other actions that year.

On September 15, 2009, just months after that glorious day in
Oklahoma, Ben Cody (Wheaties) Davis died as a result of a tragic
traffic accident that also claimed the life of his girlfriend, Breanne.

In every D-Day game since, toward the end of the game, in either
Colleville or Caen, any and all available members of the 502nd
Military Police Company and the 899th Tank Destroyer Battalion,
using orange paint in the grenades and flying an orange flag,
make a grenade charge on the flag station in memorial of our
beloved Wheaties.

Rest in Peace, Brother.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking for a unit that's in the thick of the action from game on till
the dust settles, consider joining SuperDad and the rest of his 502nd
MP unit.
There have not been, but he may be able to borrow one from someone. Also, he can pick up a package of used equipment for a very reasonable price unless he is looking for a high-dollar rig.
Especially in light of his prior service I'm sure he'd have no
trouble borrowing everything he needed, save clothes and
boots from any number of people on the Allied side.
I can't speak for the Germans but I'd be willing to bet they'll
feel the same. Just let me know what unit he'd like to hook
up with and I'll put him in touch with somoene who can better
address his needs directly.
Sincerely,
My dad and I have already registered. This will the sixth straight D-Day we have attended and we can say we honestly enjoy the whole event. I must say that the players that attend this event are some of the most honorable anywhere. I have been to other events where cheating/wiping/playing on was rampant.
Cannot wait for June. Screw the winter... lets skip it and get to the summer.
Airborne
Travis Posey
82nd Airborne Division
Hello,
I have reached out to all of the commanders in our division and
if you haven't talked with them I am surprised because they are
all extremely excited about DDay 2013 and ready to get out there
and work as a team once again.
This year there will be more opportunities than ever to play paintball
with the bunker having 2 games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
I plan on being at every game the bunker has to offer and displaying
my 82nd Armband proudly. None of these games are mandatory and
I understand some folks are on a budget but I will still invite you out
to support us either in the TOC or as RTO's on the field.
This year there will not be any games on Friday and the 82nd Airborne
will use this time to do small unit tactics and division maneuver walk
through in the morning while it is still cool. This is something we have
done for many years and have had a great time doing so. This will also
be a good time to meet many of the walkons and get to work with them
one last time before the big game.
Gentlemen and Ladies I am honored to be your General once more in
2013 and look forward to keeping you guys in the action and taking
objectives all day every day.
Finally, the holiday season is approaching and I want to wish all of
you a safe and thankful time.
BG Travis Posey
Baker Company
BAKER Company is just a small part of the
Commonwealth's Forces, but they do get
around. Here's some highlights they sent
from the 2012 Tippmann Challenge which
held in Manatoba, Canada.
Looking for a team that plays at D-Day,
as well as at locations around the globe,
325th PIR Assaults Colleville
Just as soon as I think I've seen all the footage from
this year's D-Day Event another clip surfaces. This
one features highlights of the 1st assault on Colleville
by members of the 325th PIR, which is a part of the
82nd Airborne Division.
If you're looking for a real challenge and you're fit
enough to keep up with a group that sees more of
this 1,000 acre field than just about anyone, give
the 325th a try.
German 914th GIR
So some really good news out of The Bunker. The caps
for each unit is removed, which is absolutely wonderful
news. I was extremely worried that we would cap and
everyone that was going to be coming back this year
wouldn't have a spot. The thing is, between all the regulars,
the new recruits that we get, I was expecting an all time
high. last year our unit almost maxed and numbers were
down across the field, so for me, this is absolutely fabulous
news.
Come fight with the 'Dogs of War,' I can guarantee the last
3 years we have been preparing for the fight for this D-Day.
Our tactics, our members, our numbers...no unit at D-Day
can go toe to toe. I say this with conviction because our unit
has the largest number of veteran D-Day'ers, we have one
of the large previous military experience presence, special
forces included, a hundred years of paintball experience in
the command ranks alone, and we fight together like family.
Not to mention our camp is ran by one of the best cooks,
our Mom, Dee. She takes care of us, and makes sure we are
fed, hydrated, and taken care of. If you can handle it, join
us.
~ Welcome to The Valley of Death ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Quite a few of these 914 guys are from Illinois. We (team 502MPs)
run into them frequently at paintball events around the state. They
are stand-up paintballers, they play hard and honorably. Tom, Hokori
on these forums, was the XO for the side we joined at one such event.
He did an awesome job. I would play alongside or against them!

~~~~~~~~~~~
Gents,
It is that time of year when folks begin to plan their paintball
season for the upcoming year. There are a lot of tournament
and scenario options out there, but there is one option that
rises above the rest. There is only option that lets you play
with thousands of other players. There is only one option where
some of the biggest names in the paintball industry set up
shop. There is only one option that offers an entire week of
some of the most intense paintball you will ever play. There
is only option that plays itself out on a 1000 acre field with
some of the most epic battles you will ever experience. There
is only one OKLAHOMA D-DAY!
If you are able to make it to Wyandotte for the biggest scenario
in paintball then let me be the first to say WELCOME. You are
guranteed to have the absolute time of your life. However, you
probably have a lot of questions those questions probably
begin with 'What side and unit should I play for?'.
Let me suggest...err...encourage you to play on the German
side with the 914th Grenadier Infantrie.
Here's why:
-With the 914th, you'll be playing heavily out-manned (plenty
of targets!) and with your back against the wall.
-You'll be responsible for containing the enemy horde in what
we affectionately call the 'Valley of Death.' And boy does it earn
its name!
-You'll be fighting in the shade provided by the tree canopy and
the paint flying over head!
-The 914th is involved in some of the most brutal battles at
Oklahoma D-Day.
-The 914th is led by experienced leadership who know and
understand how to play the Valley.
-The 914th is a close-knit group that looks out for each other.
Why do players keep coming back to the 914th year after year?
It's the brotherhood of paint forged at the unit camp site and
tested on the field of paint.
-The 914th will welcome you with open arms and make you an
integral part of a unit that is critical to the German war plan.
There are 101+ reasons to join the 914th GIR. If you have any
questions at all then please feel free to contact me, and I will
answer any questions you may have.
See you in the middle!
-SicEm
