I too am Active Duty Army ( 6-101 CAB, 101st ABN DIV (AA) ), but am going German. A main reason is the German Special Forces groups are the tits... rough on the field, but a blast in camp. The 6th FJR in particular is known for recognizing it is your vacation you're enjoying at the game, and there are no mandatory ruck marches, pt sessions, etc.

Also... on FTX's, I've always had a blast as OPFOR. Think about it... you're outgunned, outmanned, and out there on your own. Skill, stamina, and violence of action are going to see you through the day, not a wall of compatriots to your left and to your right. Just you and a small group of your buddies.

The HELLIONS, a well-known and respected mil-sim team, are going to be fighting for the Germans, and some members are in leadership positions of the Wehrmacht. Just something to keep in mind.

If you're interested, hop on over to the German Recruiting forum and see what they have to offer. The BK's and the 6.FJR are pretty awesome... the MEK are known for their ferocity on the field, as well.

However, if you and your boys do decide to go Allied... well... post a picture up so I know who to be looking for on the field

You would be more than welcome in the 101st ABN. We have a long tradition of being first on the field and covering as much of it as we can during the Saturday game.

We also play ALL of the mini-games and have a unit structure that promotes cohesion and learning to play as a unit. We have fun both on and off the field,

We have 4 regiments that are all structured differently. That way you can find one that fits your leisure time and playing style. From Ultra Military to ultra relaxed

We also do our best to honor the real soldiers of WWII by marching in the parade. While it is not mandatory, it is requested.

feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

BigPimpin55,

Wanted to share part of that history Eric was telling you that his
group honors.

Here's a picture of a guy who we had come and visit with us till his
health kept him from returning this past June. Just ask anyone in
Engler's101st Div. who Jake McNiece is and get ready to hear some
pretty tall but true tales.

There are those who come to D-Day to have 'fun,' then there's some
who come to have 'fun' and do something else as well.

"Flight of the Goonkaries"

Here's the first of what I expect will be quite a few
D-Day 2013 recruiting video clips. Enjoy watching
a few of the CEF's more memorable charges as some
oddly familiar organ music plays in the background.

For more information about the CEF visit their new
website - http://www.cefpaintball.com.

You'll also be able to find more details by visiting the
official D-Day website - http://www.ddaypark.com

Calling All Airborne

Airborne!

I'm Travis Posey, Co for the 82nd Airborne Division at the Oklahoma
D-Day Event. I'll be heading down to Texas in 30 days to play in
"Operation Market Garden" at DFW Adventure Park. I know we will
have troopers from the 507th PIR and the 508th PIR attending this
event. Newly appointed CO of the 508th PIR Chris Neighbors will be
leading our contingent. I wanted to let everyone of you know about
this event and invite anyone that can to try to make this one.

We currently have a group of about 30 right now and WE WILL take
it to the Germans. If you can come out and join us great!!!

Here is the info:

http://www.facebook.com/events/382988411720420/

BTW, we're also looking for players who'd like to learn more about
what we do each year during the Oklahoma D-Day Event, so if you've
been thinking about coming to D-Day and you'd like to hook up with
us we'd welcome a chance to have you join us for what promises to
be a great event.

CanScots

I am the lieutenant Of the Canscots, Company C.

I didn't start there, I first Joined up with the Rangers in 2008.
It was fun but I needed something more. Through friends in
the Paintball world, I met several of the Canscots on and off
the field. Damn I felt like I was one of them, and needed to
play with these guys. Through the rest of the 2008 season I
started to train my wonderful wife Roulette Morgan to play
paintball. After 3 months , Her real first big game was in
Oregon ,she was shooting next to Greg Hastings at Supergame.
Her second Game was Oklahoma Day. In 2009 we both joined
the Commonwealth and the Canscots. The warm welcome we
received was great. We were treated with honor and respect
from the entire team and not just the Cansots.

Roulette only played a couple games during the week, then on
Saturday the day of D-Day, we were ready to storm Sword Beach.
09:00 hit and we hit the beach. After a couple minutes I found
myself back on the boat looking for Roulette. I asked everyone
on the boat have you seen her? They (which was the entire
3rd infantry) They said "sssshhhhh, look." There she was all
by herself on the jagged rocks reloading her hopper 3/4 of the
way up about 15 feet from the Germans. She then threw the
pod WAY behind her looking like she had done it for years. She
then crawled another 5 feet tried to take aim on someone, when
they all opened fire on my beautiful wife. With one minute before
we could reinsert from the boat she wondered down off the hill.
I patted her head and said "that was so awesome great job, I'm
proud of you , hang out until the next reinsert and wipe the paint
off yourself and drink some water, and I love You".

Later I find out that our commanding officer Jester and her were
hiding behind a cement tube from a tank ready to kill. He asked
her " So are you having a good time" Roulette replied, " This is
Fu**ing awesome!!!" . She was awarded a Bronze Star for her
heroism and valor on Sword Beach 2009. When she was given
these Medals in the Awards Ceremony. I couldn't help shed some
tears. The Commonwealth Expeditionary Forces isn't just the
Worlds Largest International Paintball Team, I think we are the
worlds largest family of Paintballers.

I currently play in 3 different States with the Commonewealth,
soon to be more. I hope to see you in Maroon too.

Cheers!!!

Operation Market Garden

ALERT!

The Allied Command is putting out a call for anyone who
took part in this year's Oklahoma D-Day Event to rally up
for what looks to be a major turnout of D-Day players for
Operation Market Gardern, a Mad Ivan Sceanrio Event.

If you were a member of any of the Allied or German
units who took part in D-Day and you'd like to rejoin your
friends, this event offers you that chance and if you
missed D-Day and want to hook up with some of the
best sceanrio players anywhere, this is also your chance
to do that.

Call To Arms

IN part because the CEF has elected to divide up its forces in
order to particiapte in both D-Day 2013 as well as a second
event taking place over in France at the same time, they are
looking to recruit additional players so they can field a full
compliment of players for both events. If you're looking for a
truely international scenario team, the CEF is the unit for you.

To arms my brothers, my countrymen, my compatriots
and my colleagues. To the best conflict our time has ever known,
perhaps to our deaths. But always, onward to victory!

This game is on my paintball bucket list. The fact that I go to about 25 plus games as Barney and with Blue's Crew. Makes going to this game even harder. Just the expense of this game when I look into it always kills the dream. Hopefully I can make it to the 2013 game. I was able to check off the Supergame in Portland this year. So time will tell if I can make D-day next year.

Rumor has it that they're going to come out with a early entry
deal that includes entry, a case of paint and a commemorative
tee shirt for under 150.00 this year. Also hear there may be
some other promotions in the works, so stay tuned here and
as soon as I've got any of this nailed down I'll be posting it.

'BarneyNY,' take it from me and if you don't trust me, check
this out with Engler. Forget heading off to Portland for their
'Supergame' and come and join us for D-Day instead. There
is NO OTHER event involving paintball like this anywhere in
the world, PERIOD! Nothing at Blues, or Fogal's there in the
NE, or over in the UK that Shoreline stages, or even over in
France or Germany even comes close. I understand, if you're
looking for the total experience it would mean making the
commitment to come and spend the better part of a week.
My solution would be for first time players to get there on
Wednesday and then leave Sunday. Flights out of Tulsa
start as early as 0630 Sunday morning, so you'd be back
home in time to get a decent nights sleep before having to
head off to work again Monday AM.

One more word of advice to everyone, please forget about
showing up for D-Day in your spandex tights and pink wig,
cause we've already got a guy who who has the rest of you
drag queens beat hands down. Trust me on this.

Sincerely,

Early Entry Deal

OK, here's the first of what I think might wind up being
several special deals to entice folks to sign up early. If I
were you I'd jump on this before they raise their prices.
That means you've still got a couple months to work out
the finances

As soon as anything else comes along I'll post it here.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
Engler has been trying to get me down for years now. I'll see what I can do. First I'll have to see which side to play for. I got friends on both side. Being a Jar Head I think I'll enjoy the make up of the game. Should bring back memories. The pre-reg deal may help. But I still have a trip to Detroit, Maryland, PA and Florida left on my 2012 schedule.

If you guys are looking for a unit to join at D-Day, look no further than the FFI. The French Forces of the Interior are a smallish unit that fights in the Valley at Oklahoma D-Day (usually around 40ish members). Yearly we are tasked with securing a 1/4th of the games points, and we never fail to possess. The only thing we do better than play the game is lounge. Our units training philosophy prohibits waking up too early or doing PT, after all you are paying well over registration cost to be at D-Day. No unit can match our pride, or our ability to carry chairs in the parade. Being such a small unit lets us in the command staff get to know every player individually, and as a result you get to do what you want on the field since we know what you are best at. We mold to our players, and refuse to make our players mold to us. And that is why we have an insanely high rate of return for veteran players...after all once you go French, you never go back.

Feel free to PM with any questions!

Check us out at facebook.com/FFIDDAY

Paintball Networking

Two words: Paintball Networking

The CEF is an organization that has deep roots at Dday but it offers
so much more. Dday 2013 is a great way to get a foot in the door of
one of the most comprehensive world wide paintball networks (by
players) in the world.

While D-Day itself may be exciting (the CEF is often in the most
intense fighting in South AOR) the opportunities afforded by meeting
international paintball players are priceless. As a result of my few
years at Dday (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) I have made literally hundreds
of new friends all over the world, represented the maroon
all over the states and am currently gearing up for my first European
(paintball) foray.

As an organization we exude an air of sportsmanship and professionalism,
it is important to note this before joining as it would be the only detrimental
factor. One good example of this; friends of mine on the German side of
the field have confessed that more often than not they will gun at maroon
as we will call ourselves out reliably.

Another thing to consider when joining this team is just how meta it really is.
After going to Dday in 2008 my team took the ethos home and started establishing
a presence in Colorado (as CEF). We're now quite recognizable at scenario events
and have spread the network on a local level.

Join something bigger this year at Dday and you'll not regret it.

The Commonwealth is set up as such;

the 3RD Infantry Division is made up of

The Can Scots
The East Yorkshire Regiment
The 41st Marine Commando
The Royal Winnipeg Rifles

The 13/18 th Hussars
The 13/18 th Dragoons

The 6th Airborne is made up of

The 9th Parachute Infantry Regiment
The 1 Canadian Parachute Regiment

Each unit is different in there style of play and focus. In the CEF, the Airborne units are
discouraged for first year players due to the number of veterans returning year after
year. If you are interested in these units ocntact the unit commanders on the CEF
websight for more information. www.cefpaintball.com

Sincerely,
Stovi

Hello Allied Army!

The Hellkatz, Team ISH and a few others are looking into coming down this yer for OK D-Day. Dorsai has been in constant contact with a number of us from the north as for the past couple of years we have been exchanging ideas and talking about how to make both OK D-Day and ION (Invasion of Normandy) which is held up in central PA every July, better. We are one big family, and anything that can be done to make the entire game more enjoyable for the first day walk on to the 15 year vet should be tried or looked into.

All of us have played Allied, German, as well as French and Tyrell up here at ION. And I understand there is no 3rd entity down at OK D-Day. This is where there are big differences between OK D-Day and ION, we have a 3rd Entity every year. The last two years I have had the privilege to general the French and I can tell you it's a hysterical time and we make it fun. Forcing both sides to use their brains as well as their trigger fingers.

But as we have seen in videos there is plenty of role playing and a deep respect for the historical significance to all sides who fought in this conflict.

All of us are just starting to organize and we are really looking forward to working/meeting all of you!

Looking forward to it...

Mike, it would be a pleasure to have you and your team(s) join us for D-Day 2013. I would like to invite you and your team mates to join us in the Allied Camp. I can help you get set up with a unit at D-Day, we have a French Unit, Airborne and Pathfinder Units as well as the OSS. So we have a lot to offer. Let me know if I can be of any service.

First off, thank those who decided to do away with CO2. It is dirty, inefficient, and costly; for all those who use CO2... go out and by a cheap 48 ci steely compressed air tank. Many dudes are selling them on the nation.

Second, more money needs to be put into the field as well as some of the areas be opened up more. It would be better for the Germans if the Allies are more spread out (like the airbourne units which have been rumored to be scattered at the beginning of the game for the last two years). Being an Allied airbourne player, it was not a contest for us against the German opposition. It was as if there were no Germans out on the field on Sunday.

Finally... recruit, recruit, recruit. Last year was somewhat of a disappointment in terms of the turnout. 2007 was probably the best turnout I have seen ever in my time at D-Day. I know times are hard and the event turnouts have dipped lower and lower in the last several years, but I could not sacrifice this event from calender... ever. No matter what, I make sure that D-Day week is always in my budget. I cannot dream myself missing out on this... the best week of the year!
