Spectre 545,

Trust me on this, you really don't want to be the one wearing
the red skull cap. Let that honor fall to Custer..

Sincerely,

Completed last Allied Staff Conference call last evening and
it looks like members of the Commonwealth will arrive on
the site by Friday. Look for others to arrive soon after as
the first event takes place this coming Monday, June 10th.

BTW, there's still time to get registered for the unit of your
choice and avoid paying the higher entry fee. If you'd like
to join us, either give them a call or jump over to their
website - http://www.ddaypark.com

Some players come prepared more than others.
That's the way it's always been and probably
always will be. Brian Cassell shows off his new
haircut as he gets ready for D-Day. Now that's
what I call being fully prepared, what do you
think? BTW, care to hazard a guess as to
which unit he's joined?

Posted elsewhere by Eric Engler, Commanding General for
the D-Day 101st Airborne Division...

"Soldiers of Paint", the film about Oklahoma D-Day, is now
available! This film is six years in the making and it shows.
It's generating a lot of buzz in the paintball community and
many agree it contains some of the most visceral and engaging
paintball battle scenes ever put down on film. It also showcases
the year-long behind-the-scenes efforts both Allies and Germans
put into preparing for the game, including building tanks,
recruiting pilots and airplanes, and even spying on each other!

The DVD, which contains 25 min of extra features, will be available
at the D-Day event starting Monday exclusively at the Engler
Custom Paintball Guns vendor tent. So come on by and grab
a copy!

Not able to make D-Day this year? No problem this film is
available online right now.
All the options to get the film can be found here: http://www.soldiersofpaint.com/

See ya on the Hill. In the meantime, check out the official trailer:

Eight days to go and players are already starting to set up camp
out in Wyandotte. Oklahoma for this year's annual D-Day Event.
Long range weather forecasters are predicting good weather and
little chance of rain throughout the next seven days.

Instead of sitting there reading these updates, pack your gear
and come and join us. Play German or Allied, but come and be
a part of this unique event. Don't miss an opportunity to be a
part of history..

Sincerely,

Are We There Yet?

Angela Lenz, German Forces

On the road to D-Day........are we there yet?

Colt Phoenix Dickerson, CEF

Is there going to be a pinup girl contest this year at D-Day?
If so, I'll be bringing some pinup costumes if any ladies would
want to borrow them for the contest. I'll have a retro dress,
retro one piece swimsuit and three military themed pinup
outfits. The only thing you'll need to provide is shoes. :) PM
me if you're interested or take a look at Irish Lens Photography
and you can see a couple of the outfits in my Pinups and Paintball
album. I'll also be taking pre-orders at D-Day for the 2014
Pinups and Paintball Calendar.

Cheers!

Roy Burger

No matter what side ya'll choose to play, I hope everyone has
a safe drive.

Jack Wolf, 899th TDB

Wishing not only my team 'The Bad Monkey' a safe trip but
to all brother and sisters on there way to D-Day drive safe.

Trey Irby
This is going to be the first year they have 2 mini games per
day, which is going to be awesome... tiring, but awesome. I'm
a bit older, so I'll forego the games on Friday to prepare for
Saturday, but they are all fun. V2 Event is a pretty compact
area, so there's lots of action. Operation Sea Lion is very
cathartic for the 1st ID. Bottom line is you can't go wrong...
just budget your paint so you don't run out by Saturday.

Caleb Zitek, CEF

Me and my dad are leaving on Sunday and will be there Monday.
Looking forward to this year as it may be my last. next year, I'm
joining the Army as an 89D (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) the
guys who blow up IED's. I am excited but i will miss coming. The
CEF will always have a special place in my heart. LETS MAKE IT A
KICK *** YEAR

HUZZAH!!!!!!

Chris Neighbors

I woke up this morning jittery, feeling like I had some place to be...
then I realized it was because DDAY is ONLY 6 DAYS, 16 HOURS,
55 MINUTES and 10 SECONDS AWAY!!!!

Remember, there's still time to join these folks. Don't be the one
who has to read about it, be there and make some history of your
own!

Heading out

Shane Butler
Headin out in the morning for the trek from KY. See
y'all at the field. 5oh8! Eighty deuce.

Dan Petrik
See you on the road. We'll be leaving Louisville at 6am.

Trey Duhe
Do you guys still want me to bring my projector? It so,
does anyone have anything to power it? I've got a
copy of Soldiers Of Paint and some other stuff.

Kenny Hayward
I bringing speakers and a sub.

Robert Horton
Bulldogs... we have a couple of first timers joining our
ranks this year. Please give them a warm welcome. Going
to post a couple of things that all new folks will want to
know before they get there. Please post any additional
helpful info to help them enjoy their first time out to
Oklahoma D-Day. My list....

1. Drink Water, lots of it. The water that you drink today,
is the water that you will use tomorrow. Have a camelback
that you can use with you on the field.

2. Use Bug Spray. Lots of critters in the woods.

3. Please check in when you arrive. Whether you get their
early in the week or Friday afternoon. Check in in at the
101/327th Tent (Dawg House). That way we can meet with
you and answer any question that you may have. The Dawg
House is open to all 327th and 101st members.

4. Have some good shoes/boots. The terrain is rocky and hilly.

5. There will be air and paint refill areas on the field in the
dead zones, but don't count on being in area that is equipped
with that for the first few hours of the big game on Saturday.
Most likely we won't be near one of those dead zones until
around 10 or 11 AM.

6. HAVE FUN. We want you to enjoy your time at Oklahoma
D-Day. We are excited to have you and hope that you have
found a home in the 327th.
Anyone else want to share some thoughts?

Shawn Noble
Thanks Rob, water is the biggest thing that we can't emphasize
enough, with that said the 101st does not allow any players to
go on the field without water. If you don't have a camelback or
hydration bladder that should be you #1 purchase. Officers and
NCO's will be checking players before we go out. With that said
as the CO I want to personally welcome the new members to
the 327th, we loon forward to meeting you.

Joseph McLemore
Yeah - welcome guys! My $.02 is to make sure your gear us 100%
squared away before game day and that your gun is choreographed
before the game day and then don't mess with it! If it worked that
evening it'll work that morning! Also, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
You won't do any recreational activity and sweat more than you do
at D-Day. Period.

Jacob Champlain
Cya all at the field!!! 82nd airborne! 3...2...5!!! Hooplaaaah!

Roy Burger
No matter what side ya'll choose to play, I hope everyone has a safe
drive.

Several members of the CEF have arrived and as expected the
first order of business is to start getting their camp ready. Here
are some photos they asked me to share. Note the new pool
as well as the medium GP tent and CONEX containers. Tent
serves both as mess hall and bar while the containers serve
as their barracks buildings, complete with AC, lighting, bunks,
etc..

More details to follow as other units pass along news on what
they're doing.

D-Day 2013 Photo Show

Starting with this post I'll attempt to bring you as many
photos and video clips from this year's event as possible.
I'll also be posting frequent updates from individual players
as they pass them along to me.

If you're not doing anything next Saturday there's still
plenty of time to get out to Wyandotte for D-Day 2013.

Wink Field Report

Good morning everyone. First reports from the field on
the results came in over night. As predicted it looks like
it's going to be another very hot and humid week. If you
are still en route, or planning to arrive later, be sure you
put down the soda and start drinking more water and be
sure to bring at least a case or two along with you.

Field Report #1

~~~~~~~~
Travis Posey
Monday T.O.G. - Battle for Caen:
This was a game of capture and change the flag (2 color PVC
pipe on a t-post). They had 5 flags 3 in the middle of Caen
spread around and 1 within 80 feet of respawn. Game on the
Commonwealth Forces hard charged the left flank while the
82nd hard charged the right flank. Results we took the city
in record time, capturing all flag stations within 5 minutes.
We repelled multiple German counter attacks and pushed
them back to their flag. Game was reset after 30 minutes.
Game 2. The Germans got their act together and advanced
more quickly occupying the whole of Caen. 82nd AB again
maneuver up the east flank and broke through their lines
and got in behind the Germans and it was quick clean up.
After another hour, everyone was tired and hot and low on
logistics (paint/air/water) and there were no more Germans
to shoot. They called the game.
82nd AB performed outstanding. Firing and maneuvering
and securing our objectives. So pumped this year and so
excited about the rest of you coming out.
Its going to be tough for the Germans this year having to
deal with us!
~~~~~~~~~

Sam Kinnett

Hey guys kick some German ***. I know you will. Sorry that
I could not make it this year. Will just make next year that
more epic. Hey Shawn Noble, John Brogie, Eric Engler, Michael
Horton, Robert Horton. Keep me posted with the weeks progress.
I really want to know now much *** your kicking.

Travis Posey

Seeker took video, he will probably upload post event.

Michael James

Get em this week Commonwealth!

Daniel Moreno Jones

Made to D-Day and gosh are the stars clear tonight.

Brian Cassell

For the past year I've been completely content with have
one thing on my mind constantly. Now that I'm here I have
something else on my mind every day. This is not a bad
thing.

Andy WoffordGerman SAC

One more night and I'm gone hanging out with great people
from all over the world is the best part of the week.

Peggy LierheimerD-Day Staff member

Okay... it's almost midnight and I had to come back to
WC to pick up my cell phone charger. I'm expecting to
be internet deficient until Sunday, so don't anybody post
anything cool or funny.... wouldn't want to miss a thing!
Oh by the way.... I am at Oklahoma D-Day for those of
you who did not know.

Christopher Long

And we're off...D-Day bound. ETA 1045 am.

Michael Alexander Quinn

Well today was a good day! I played the Caen game with
my Mech S5. And I only short stroked it a few time lol
still had fun and still shot ALOT of people. Just FYI. If you
guys call or text I'm sorry if I don't reply. Service out here
sucks and I'm away from my phone a lot.

Anyways tomorrow morning Airfield. Hell yes!!

Josh Morhardt

This is heaven on earth at D-Day Adventure Park with good
friends and good times.

Deangelo Reyes

I wish I could be in two places at once.:/

Lance Griffith

If you want something enough that you settle for close
enough, then you didn't want it bad enough. Its all or

Does anyone know if on Saturday, 6-7 am, I will still
be able to register and choose the side I want to play
in? This would be my fourth year, so I'm not new to
D-Day, just want to know in advance that if I make it
I will be able to play with my friends.

Trevor Siegert

Chances are if it's that late you will end up German
because allies are already stacked.

Brandon Spence

first time playing there, glad to hear you guys are still

Well.... It looks like we (Germans) will be completely out numbered again this year.. Kinda feel like I will waste my money yet again this year.. I dont think I will be returning to dday after this year until dday staff figure out a way to keep sides somewhat even. This is plum ridiculous. I know they want the element or "recruitment" but placing it ahead of the success of the game is a very stupid business decision.
At some point the staff should look at the numbers and say "you know... this looks a bit one sided. Maybe we should even up the teams".

So sad to see it coming to this. I actually look forward to coming every year. Im sure there are lots of others giving it a one last chance effort. But hey.. im just 1 of a couple thousand. What does my opinion matter.
