How Often Do You Relube Your Demon?

I know the official word is once every day of play but I find my Demon works best if I relube (Vaseline) every 1000 shots or so. What is everyone else seeing works best?

I usually lube right before I play...that's all.

every 1000 shots... thats crazy. I often shoot 7-8 pods just for 1 point playing xball. 8X140=1120 ball, and I have only 2 minute before each point to get back on the field. No way I could relube that often LOL

I don't wonder if I'm lubing at the wrong time. Typically I relube once I get home and clean my gear - after a day of play. Then the gun sits for a week or so. I go out the next time and it seems like it needs relubed after 7-8 pods. (I play 5 man at 10.5bps so its unusual to use more than 4 pods a game.) Maybe I should be lubing it before I start instead of after. Or maybe I'm not putting it on thick enough.

Oh, I see. I tought you were lubing it before the game, and then every 1000 shots or so.

Well I always lube it right before playing. We play 2 half of 25minutes at 15 bps. Canadian Xball

Yeah, we've seen problems with the guys who lube after the day of play, during the clean up process. You need to lube the morning before play. And don't be afraid to lube the sh** out of it. This isn't a Luxe or Shocker that can experience stick with too much lube...just go for it.

Agreed. If you lube after your day of play then the gun will end up sitting a while before it's used again. That means the grease can dry out or settle as your gun sits for week. Especially if you're using vaseline, it's open state shelf life isn't very long.

I'd just do it before you play, either the night before or as soon as you get to the field. It's also possible that the vaseline is just too thin once things heat up in this summer weather. In other words it's all being shot out of the gun quickly or evaporating. You may want to switch to a stickier lube of some type, until the weather cools down again.

Is this for the use with Vaseline or any lube? I usually grease it up the night before but I might change that now...

It's best to lube morning of. It only takes 5 minutes to get it all lubed up. If u lube it up real good u don't have to worry about it that day.

As Kevin said ^, I would recommend lubing right before you play (any lube). It's easy and will increase your odds of having an enjoyable day of play.

I've always done that with all my markers, any brand.

I would relube it before each day of play and would be good for at least 5 cases.

That doesn't sound normal at all. I have maybe changed (1) o-ring in the life of my Demon, and it's #3 off the line. I never change o-rings in my team guns either.

Im experiencing velocity drop after about 1500 shots of play. Its shoots perfect then out of no where, its start farting or pooping the balls out, each ball getting shorter than the next. I quickly solved this on the field durring a game by upping my dwell a bit. So my question is, am i just needing a quick bolt relube after a case durring a day a play?

Up your dwell a little bit. But as long as you have a good seal on you 019 and the 806 you should be good for a full day of play.

019 is the rear inner can. 806 is in the middle of the drive train.
