Had a card corrupt on me today. Of course the pre-ceremony photos and our offsite post ceremony images were on it.
Not a clue as to what happened or how. Tried using a few data recovery programs onsite and now back at home to no avail.
FML ... infinitely. Probably the most disgusting feeling I've had in a long, long time.

i dont see why i couldn't, but none of the reviews mentioned it so i just wanted to make sure.

Carl I'd send it in to sandisk/lexar/whatever, they usually have some last resort techniques that aren't available in their software recovery.

From a rover that cost $2.5 billion to get to a planet 200 million kilometers away with a landing system that had so many chances to fail. Not to sound overly dramatic, but this rover could determine the future of NASA. They just pulled off one insane landing on a budget.

**** it, I'm going right back to it. Problems like this are great learning experiences and definitely show where I need to improve my "best practices". Separate cards for each major event throughout the day, and running backup immediately.
I have a 2nd shooter with me so one of us can back things up or at least get it working while we continue shooting.
Just didn't anticipate the failure of all failures in my data storage.

Yesssirrrrr. I think I'm lucky in a way since it's a bride that initially didn't really care or want any type of pre-wedding/off site images. We had to get the off-site photos done in 30 minutes just to convince them to do it.
That **** was crazy, but we nailed it. Got my entire shot list done with time to spare. Even had time for a couple Brenizer shots. Sad thing is all the Brenizer shots are still on the card along with a single photo of her 3 kids.
**** happens I guess. Hardest part is going to be telling the bride that I have zero shots of her and her kids from either of the parts of the day.

That's what I'm thinking, but I'm going to see where that stands on pricing. I shot this wedding at a STEEP discount as it's for my future in-laws but I'm sure as **** not covering the cost of data recovery. We still have some 1,500 images to work with and plenty of family shots so I'll let them know and if she wants to pursue it then we can work out the financials.

It's a good thing Naysa owns space, not a satellite provider company. Take that, DirecTV!

Brett - October's Delta IV launch is off the table for now, I'm going to be traveling that week. If it gets delayed we'll be back on. There's an Atlas V 501 launch October 26 that we could do in the middle of WC. Another Delta IV M+ comes up in January.

Now that is troubling. I assume you've already tried the usual logical file recovery?
