best speedball pod pack
Hi the paintball place I play at just got a new speedball field. I like to play speedball and am excited to play. I recently bought a jersey and a pair of paintball pants. I just need a pod pack. Any suggestions on what to get. I never need more than one pod per game but If it holds like 4 I don't care. So what pack should I get.

the absolute best pod pack around is the empire liquid pack. they have a 2009 series, and the new 2012 editions.

I love the dye assault and attack packs. Cant go wrong with either. This will all come down to preference so I suggest going to a local shop and trying some on, see whats comfortable.

I have an Empire React 5+8.
It's cheap, comfortable, and works really well.

Sadly I don't have a local shop just a small store at my local field. I don't have much money so I planned on buying used. What would be a safe pack to get. I doesn't have to be spectacular just good enough to last about 1 day of play each month. Thanks, Brett

True. But the review section has been littered because of pursuit.
I have a c9 pod pack. The store near me dont sell it so i took a risk. When i got it, it was great. And for the price i paid, it was definitely worth it. I would take a look at empire, lysk, dye, and critical.

It's a matter of personal preference. If you can, try some on in a store. I like the Empire and Dye packs but they tend to be a little pricier. The NXE's have always been good. I used an Evil pack for years and an Extreme Rage before that. Several of my friends have the Critical packs and speak highly of them. I bought another Evil 4+5 pack a few weeks back on eBay. They're not made anymore but I like the way it fits. You have a lot of really good options.

I feel like ans gear or some other online website lets you test the gear they ship you and return it if you don't care for it.

There is no BEST speedball pod pack....period. What feels/works best for one person isn't going to work the same for someone else. It all depends on the person and how it fits and/or feels to them.

NXe / Eclipse(produced by NXe) packs are very nice. I'm currently wearing an '09 Empire Hinge 3+6 and it has been excellent. Redz packs aren't bad, but I prefer the packs that have elastic straps to push the pods out into your hand. From what I've heard/seen Critical makes a good pack as well.
Avoid the Empire Fast Pack. They don't hold the pods securely, except when you are in a hurry to load or unload the pack, in which case it takes an act of God to get them in or out. They were an interesting concept/idea, but in the real world, they were impractical.
Size wise, I'd suggest a 3+2 type design (many now are 3+4 or even 3+6), just put two pods in the outside pockets, and leave the center empty. That should give you more then enough paint for a game if you only are shooting a hopper and a pod per game.

In the past, I have owned a Redz Envy, which was a great pack, but was replaced by my NXe Elevation pack, as the NXe had more back padding. The NXe has since been replaced by a Critical pack, as the Critical pack works better for me.
I had no issues with any of the 3 that I listed, & would recommend all 3 packs...I simply like the Critical pack more than the other 2.
