Bodyweight routine
Ive been cutting for a bit now with some decent progress and I plan to start bulking again in July. I'm pretty new to all this and a friend told me to switch to only Bodyweight exercises, mostly pushups pullips and jump squats, for the next few weeks in order to give my muscles a break from my regular routine. Apparently this will equate to more gains when I switch back to heavy weights. I've just been doing Bodyweight and cardio for about a week now but I wanted to ask is this good advice or is it bull****?

Bull****.
If you really wanna give your muscles a break, just deload or take a week off.
You should switch up your routine every now and then though.

Give your muscles a break from your normal routine? Switch your routine.

People have become separated from their bodies. They are no longer whole.

"Either deload or take a week off."
Doing bodyweight is akin to deloading, so why not.

Mainly the limited range of exercises and the ability to dial in an exact weight, be it higher or lower than BW.

I've seen too many huge and strong people with pathetic coordination (including me, to an extent) to not suggest bodyweight movements for everybody. The same goes for unilateral movements. You'd be surprised at how ****ty people are at something like a one-arm DB press, even though they have the strength to be raping whatever weights they happen to be using.

Deloading is just using about 60% of the weight you normally use on lifts and do the same sets/reps/etc. It allows you to keep your current muscle but at the same time gives your body a break. So lets say you bench 200 for 10 reps, on your deload week, bench about 120 for 10. I am pretty sure thats how it goes.

All exercises are good for our health but over-exercise is not good because it can injured your muscles. You can do three times exercise in a week which is enough for everyone. Do not do weight lifting with cardio but choose one exercise in one time.

It all depends on your goals. You can really kick your own *** with body weight workouts. I was having a shortage of cash at the beginning of the summer so I just decided that for the summer I would work on conditioning and do body weight only stuff at the local playground. It's taken some creativity to make some of the equipment work, but I feel like I'm keeping a lot more mobility and being able to see a real improvement in things like pullups and pushups is nice too.
