If you plan on playing tourney play then get a used Geo. If you only play Local then go for an Etha. It all depends on what you want to do and plan on doing in the future.

Go buy some paint and blast it out in your backyard.

Could do that, but using cheaper paint, even at the low end, he's paying as much for paint as the guns msrp, lol.

My new bolts are in. reduces kick quite a bit due to the much lower weight. Still testing however, and trying to find the perfect return spring. Stock spring doesn't quite get up to velocity because the bolt doesn't have as much mass. Its 20grams vs 38 grams of the stock bolt.
Probably another week or two before they are ready to go out the door.

What about the sound signature? Is it being reduced by your new bolt and spring?

Did you make any changes to the structure or just the material? Curious if you thought there were any improvements to be made to the design.
Also I notice you made triggers for the axe but no bolt, any reason why? They operate similarly, just wondering.
I remember Jack or Nicky mentioning that while you could lighten the bolt, the increased acceleration it'd experience may make it harder on brittle paint. It would be neat to see this tested with some known brittle paints. Not that I don't believe either of them, but it's always fun to see this stuff being tested/re-tested.
I wonder if a change similar to pooty/BL bolts would help with that at all assuming it's a problem. IE having a pillow/platform in the middle of the bolt so that the bolts in contact with the ball the entire time, instead of the cupped surface.

I can't. I live within city limits which bans the use of weapons that shoot projectiles.

Reballs. inside, against a pillow. buy enough to fill a hopper then shoot them into a netted box or cardboard box. collect and repeat
also, taking the spring out and just squeezing it back and forth like the etha would during operation could help a LITTLE (don't slam me on this one guys it worked with my other FASOR's).

There were already good axe bolts. No need to reinvent the wheel.
The Etha bolt I made is an aluminum bolt with a brass core for low friction and weight.
I'm still testing springs though, so they aren't ready for release yet.
I haven't had any issues with graffiti paint. Don't have any ultra evil around here to test, but once I'm satisfied with the springs I'll order a few cases.
My bolt weight is 22 grams, stock bolt is 38. Reduces kick and sound a fair bit.

Testing my new springs. Velocity seems good now. finger in the breach test shows the antichop still works, but maybe not quite as well as with the stock bolt. put a bag of graffiti through it with no breaks including some intentional eye off hopper off tries. After this weekend I might be ready to call these good.

Excited for you to roll these out soon! TechT said they were coming out with a bolt as well but haven't heard anything else.

Sorry, No. I live in VA. I've only had it testing at KPS in Midlothian.
You would know if it were one of mine. The sound is VERY different.
