What's up with Seagates?

What do you mean by "looks like it is a seasonic unit"?

People tend to have silly brand loyalty when it comes to drives because one crapped out on them when all drives are just two manufactures rebranded. Same with the PSU it is just a rebranded seasonic PSU.

Seagates do have a larger and faster rate of failure. And the PSU does matter because some companies overrate their psu's or are not quality and can actually kill your components. Seasonic is an odm and brands it's own units, they are a reputable brand. Producing a lot of corsairs psu's for them as well.

I know PSUs are important, I was saying it was rebranded like harddrives.

Seagate had one REALLY bad batch of drives. In the past couple of years, they have been much better.

Seems like every few years it's a different HD manufacturer to avoid.

I just checked Newegg for Seagate and WD drives. Seems like the warranties are getting way shorter. Wasn't 5 years the standard warranty just a while back? You're lucky to get 3 years with the cheaper drives.

Rebranded hard drives? The two manufactures of hdd's are seagate and western digital. Seagates are known to fail faster and more often. Seagate owns many hard drive brands and uses their drives for them. If seagates drives are **** then it means that all of their rebrands are ****. Wd's failure rates are much lower, so wd and all their rebrands will have a lower failure rate. and supra you stay out of this

Which is ironic because the cheaper ones have all the power saving ****, and all that spinning down/up decreases the life of the drive.

Seagate does the same ****... Just get a black or blue drive and you'll be fine.

I never said they didn't. He was talking about drive manufacturers shortening warranties across the board.

You're going to get bad drives with any manufacturer... just accept it as a cost of owning a computer. Keep your data backed-up and be prepared to have drives die.

Oh thought you were talking about wd's lower end drives doing that in response to my post. Excuse me, I'm a little inebriated.

Hitachi apparently got bought out by WD, that kind of sucks. Got my raid drives from them for $45 each.

Those were golden times.

EDIT: Holy **** posts.

He's retarded enough to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. So he qualifies.

Also, 4gb is still plenty enough for AT LEAST 99% of the people who use a computer, fyi.

Speaking of RAM, I'm building a desktop for my grandfather. If any of you see a good deal or are getting rid of used RAM, I want some.
