Using a Coil Remote over On/Off ASA

I have an invert mini and dont feel like shelling out the money for the on/off ASA at the moment and am looking for a cheaper option. Is an on/off coil remote a plausible option?
This is the product I am thinking of buying or something similar.

Sure, if you want to sacrifice being able to switch hands quickly...

Just get the on/off.

As Snake said, you wont be able to switch hands easily or quickly. Also, you won't have the luxury of the tank resting on your shoulder/arm for stable shooting.

Although the switching hands part is true, the 2nd part is not. He could buy a gas thru stock and achieve what you say cannot.

a gas thru stock is universal, meaning it screws into the asa. It's not made for any 1 type of gun, it's made for any gun with a horizontal screw in style asa.

Check this out

A stock on a Mini? Just to run a remote line because you're too cheap to buy an on/off Relay?

Ridiculous.

You're taking everything great about the Mini (small, light, agile) and messing it all up. Just save the money and get the on/off.

Or.... you can just spend the money on a new bolt. Honestly, I don't even see the point of shelling out so much for an On/Off. Just unscrew your tank at the end of the day. Works for me

On off Asa. Or you could get a cobra coil from hustle paintball. They are fairly cheap and they hold air when you disconnect the line.

But like everyone said, get the on off Asa. Not only is it easier to switch hands, but you lose a lot of accuracy not being able to shoulder your tank.

Also, where are you gonna put the tank? If you're playing speedball wearing a vest with a tank harness will greatly hinder your agility and mobilty. If you're playing woodsball or scenario and perhaps already wear a vest then I say why not to the remote coil. It'll just make a light gun even lighter!

In general tho I'm with everyone above, NDZ threadsaver gives you the on/off feature for cheap.

He didn't ask about gas through stock... he asked about a remote line. I gave him an answer regarding a remote line. I think the use of the gas through stock would make the whole setup even more cumbersome, not to mention additional money that he wouldn't want to spend. An NDZ on/off costs like 25 bucks, but what you are saying is he could buy that gas through stock for 18 bucks in addition to a remote line. For that money, he could buy an Empire Relay. So what I said was totally true.

He asked about a remote.

You said " you cant shoulder a gun with a remote"

I said "you can, if you have the stock" negating your statement.

As far as anyone running a stock, you first have to drop the "everyone is a speedball player" mentality. I play woodsball/scenario and shoot an Axe. Why, because its light and more efficient then a Tippmann. A stock is usefull to a woman with large breasts. I have friends that went this route, puts the tank weight on their back, and stock fits between their armpit and boob with minimal discomfort, unlike a tank.

You assume the op is buying everything new, a used remote = 10-20.00 plus the stock is 18.00, 40.00 tops vs the empire relay that ranges between 54.00 - 84.00. The NDZ on off maybe 25.00 but is it drilled for the air tube on the mini ? If not, hows does that help him ?

The NDZ TSO on/off ASA shows a video of th em using it for a mini but the newer ones dont have said video so im not entirely sure if it fits. I would have to call and ask. The NDZ seems like the best route for me if it does indeed fit.

Thanks for clarifying what it actually is. It's more of a coupler that fits between the stock asa and the tank, with on/off/purge capabilities. If you use a small tank, it wouldn't be so bad, but a larger tank would add more length to the tank and possibly put stress on the stock asa over a period of time.
