Looking for an '06 Ego solenoid

Does anyone know where I can find a solenoid for an '06 ego? P.E. doesn't support their older products, and noone I know has any. I've tried ebay and amazon. no luck.

Keep on searching as finding one is a process... You may want to look into purchasing an entire gun if you can find one cheap enough... You can also Google the mod to adapt the 07/08 solenoid (if I remember correctly). Unfortunately they are really hard to find.

Good luck!

A MAC43 noid will work just fine for these older egos. It may take minor frame modification but it's a fairly common conversion.

I think its funny that the first thing that comes up about older guns is that a company doesn't support its older products. At some point a company can no longer pay to support something that really isn't in wide usage. (Look at how soon some auto manufacturers stop having infrequently requested parts made).
These are coming more in demand now for folks wanting to keep older guns running, however I still haven't seen anyone making new one.
Last I checked on a few sites the equivalent noid that could be substituted never seems to be available. (listed as out of stock or no longer in production).

I've seen a few references to using an 07 noid, but never dug up the documentation myself.

I love the older egos, but they need to die off. This is such a common and expensive problem it makes having one of these guns a huge hassle.

Proper upkeep helps a lot on older markers. The main problem with the 05/06 was overtightening of the grip screws in to the solenoid, thus damaging it.

I love my older Egos.

I'd rather they didn't die off, but that someone either ordered a huge run of noids to keep spares in circulation or someone came up with a way to use an Ego11 noid in one and sold it more widespread.

Back in the day(using this phrase to emphasize how long ago it was) we went in on having QEVs made custom, minimums were roughly 500. I would imaging that even though the QEVs are more "simple" that you would see similar minimums.

Also, no I do not have QEVs.

Good luck.

As someone who has tried exactly that keep in mind what you're saying. You want to custom make a part that allows you to drop in a ~$125 ego 11 noid into an older ego that's current value is around 150-200. And the SFR's on the 11 are (largely) worthless as they are defeated by the QEV's.

It'd be better to just have new manifold blocks made that allow for the use of more commonly available (& cheaper) 'off the shelf' solenoid solutions. Standard MAC noid for example.

....or sell your functioning 05/06 for the $150-200 add to it the $120 for the ego 11 solenoid add the $50-$75 for the custom block and you've got nearly enough for a used EGO 11.

I love my 05's and have modded mine to work like an ego 11, but the numbers mean it won't be a viable solution long term as very few want to pay for it.

About the only way I see it working is sourcing a machinist to make a drop in ram sleeve that has no QEV's and a provision to direct mount the noid. Or have a separate solution of elbows made with the correct threading to replace the QEV's and separately have A block made to mate up to an off the shelf solenoid solution.

You'd need to locate a machinist, determine his/her minimum and then work out a crowd funding for it. I'd do it myself, but I simply can't dedicate that much time to it, but if someone else wants to take this on, I'll offer as much support as I am able.

it would completely be a solution for someone who just wanted to keep their old gun body going that had some type of sentimental value.

I would be willing to bet substantially less.. Qev's are a pain in the *** because they are several different parts that need to be assembled.. Etc. Whilst ASCO (company that made planets solenoid) makes their living by adapting a staple product for many different needs.. Aka only thing changing is the spool housing.

Bear in mind that the QEV's are not needed. On 2005 ROF was king so the QEV's were a way to keep that high. Nowadays, nobody is shooting in an area where a lack of QEV's would be a problem. You'd need to make sure you had a high flow air passage but it need not be venting directly below the ram tube. It's sufficient to vent through the solenoid.

So, basically, I have a paperweight? Guns not worth much$150, and a noid I got 1 offer for a used one for $140. Btw, my noid works, but won't shoot over 220fps. Took it in for service and that's what they told me it needed. Not surprising since I traded even up for the gun. Traded my old angel. Lol and I still got the worst end of the deal. At least that shot perfectly. That's what I get for trying an ego. Never really liked them. Guess I'll be sticking with dye. Thanks for all the help everyone.

So your issue is low velocity, and someone said that it was a bad solenoid?

What have you (or whomever serviced it) tried to fix the velocity problem?
