Exclamation Serious Question !

Alright so I have finally decided to get a brand new 2012 G6R, but I still don't fully understand the situation with it. People are saying you need a pressure tester, some are saying you need the SLP reg, some are even saying the 2012's can fire out of the box with a HPA tank.

I have a Ninja 68/45.

Please help me out with this. I want to know what I'd need to buy with the marker so I can shoot it with my tank.

Your brand new G6R will come with a QC card. It will have the air pressures its set and the velocity it was shooting when it left BLAST.
This is why a pressure tester is recommended. A Tester will allow you to set the marker back to factory pressures should take it apart and maintain it. However it's not the only way to make it shoot. Lurker method will work fine without a tester.

Your Ninja 68/4500 will be fine. Even better if its a LP or the shims removed to make it LP. Slp's are great but not necessary. G6Rs will shoot on HP but you have more of a chance of blowing out an Oring. All will fire with HP but eventually you may have leaks. I should also mention just about all modern markers shoot on LP and most SLP. So having an HP is almost obsolete for modern applications. Just remove the shims from your Ninja Reg and shoot everything.

Take out all the shims in your Reg will put you LP. Manual states to run LP run LP

Pressure tester is a lot quicker and easier just screw lpr in and screw tester in air up set bam bam done.

And to clarify, you have two different types of pressures that you're alluding to in your original post: 1) The operating pressure of the marker and it's internals and 2) The output pressure of the tank. Those are two separate and distinct things.

For 1, as others have posted, there's a QC card included with your marker. Buying a pressure tester will help you set your markers pressure correctly after lubing parts, disassembling, cleaning, etc. The gauges on the stock testers may be off and I usually recommend people spend $15-30 extra for newer, more accurate gauges.

For 2 you can use any LP tank. An SLP tank is not required. The G6R is internally milled for air passageways. As such the body halves and gripframe have seals to ensure the air doesn't leak out. Using an HP tank, you run the risk of blowing out one of the body seals/o-rings. While the regs can handle the input pressure of the tank, the body seals cannot. Use LP or buy a tank with a SLP. Your ninja will work well, just make sure to remove the shims from the tank regulator.

yes but you really dont even have to do that. all you really need to do is degas your tank and the remove the bonnet on your current reg. then all you do is remove all the red and silver shims and reassemble. now your current ninja reg is set to low pressure which is what your g6r needs to run on. it also saves you another 50-60 bucks that you can now spend on paint or whatever else you please.
