Edit- Did you disconnect PS lines or just unbolt the rack?

I did both. Dropped the rack and disconnected the lines. Do you have your gaskets that go in between the midpipes and catback? I didn't and no one local had them. I had to special order them. I also refilled the power steering with ATF 4 fluid
|
I disconnected PS lines and they've leaked ever since. No easy way to get to them means I have to pull everything back apart again. I drive my GTO 0 miles, so I'm gonna wait to fix it until I get heads/cam to install

These are old, from the 80s ish.
I hope im not entirely misleading because ccw to me is counter clockwise. But I assumed you were talking about the wheel company as you were talking how the car sits.

I have the gaskets luckily. I figured I'll do a good PS flush while I'm at it, maybe swap out lines if time allows. Did you put the vararam on yourself? what did you use to cut the shroud?
|
I used a dremel tool with a little cut off wheel. Pretty easy. The only thing I don't like is the tray the filter sits on isn't really held in by anything.
I would recommend to insulate it with pipe insulator foam and to clean up the cuts on the radiator cover, you can go to like autozone and buy black door trim and clean it up.

you could have lost the tiny O-rings that go at the end of the lines..I had to be careful with those

Took the cargo area of my corvette apart. Took the factory insulation out, put Hushmat on the fiberglass and foil backed insulation down over top. It must have cut the road noise by 50%. I can hear my exhaust so much better now.
