yay it was jsut hte i/c pump. gotta love avoiding 100's of $ to fix things. sadly I only have one more weekand to run before I fear the tracks will close on me. I really need to break into the dam7's without breaking something else

so i think i am going to build my 355 into a 383 stroker. now i need to figure out which parts i'm going to buy. i want to keep all the parts under 3k. I'm thinking i'm going to go with all forged so i can put a super charger on it later down the road. I already have a nice 670 holley carb and a edelbrock performer intake. so i just need to get some dart heads, procomp cam and lifters (not sure if, i'm going to stay with tappet cam) and the internals. has anyone done this? what did you use for parts?

You're gonna need a bigger carb and your build is gonna cost you more than 3K, I guarantee that.

I've got almost 2k into my build so far and I already had the block, rotating assembly, intake, heads and carb and some other parts.

A decent forged assembly will run you at least $1,000 alone.

yeah, thats probably true. most of the machine work i can get done fairly cheap, i'll just take it back to my old work. but from what i'm reading a 650 is big enough, as long as is get it right. even now i'm running pretty small jets in the motor, i think 68-72. but anyways i'm trying to figure out the best combo to match up the top end.
