I was thinking of cutting the springs.....but now I won't bother.

Woah there, easy boys. First off, I'd be willing to bet that you're having barrel breaks, not chops. Humor me; clean and lube your bolts entirely (full strip) and make sure your orings aren't roughed up or broken. Second, up your dwell by 2ms, and lower your input pressure. Third, make sure your breech delay is set to 6ms, bolt return should be around 27. Fourth, if you're using a rotor, make sure you've turned down the tension by loosening the large Guide screw on the motor tray.
As a side note, the ape board DO have iFault logic, but I tell people to turn it off. You can turn it on by setting your eye mode to iFLT or something like that.
When in doubt, I'd be more than happy to get your markers shooting perfectly once I get power back on at my house.

they are not barrel breaks... the paint covering my detents/breach of the marker
I know the difference between a chop and a break, I have tried all your recommendations as well,
I will try them again this weekend... sigh

Ive personally witnessed this happen to Raz as he is a teammate and we both have Vapors. It is indeed chopping paint and not breaking in the barrel with his marker. I think the only thing he hasnt done is tried out a Z2 hopper. Its odd that it keeps happening to him and with mine with the same exact setup its completely fine.

Very weird, that's the only thing why I'm still a bit anxious to get the Vapor.
Does Raz his Vapor have all the updates? Is it a recent one, and yours Npark1616?

I'll take your word for it. If you really can't get to the bottom of it, I'd be more than happy to fix it for you for free.

Ok I reset the board 3rd time, did your recommendations + two changes
I changed out the front breach 017 o-ring in front of the feed neck that seals the bolt from blowing air up the feedneck and the detent +detent springs (the ones that came w/the spare parts)
shot roughly 250 rounds (valken redemption) out of it and didn't chop/break paint. Now i need to field test it, hopefully it doesn't chop during a game
Could it be possible for the front o-ring being damaged and snagging the paintballs?

I've always thought that if the front oring doesn't seal properly (unproven theory), people end up cranking their velocities up and that causes barrel bursts (proven). I'll shoot another email over to the Machine techs and see what they think. As for chopping, make sure your breech delay is 6ms, bolt return 27+ . That typically fixes most "chopping" issues, but I do believe that most people experience barrel busts and suddenly jump to the chopping conclusion.
From two other markers that have come in for repairs, I'd like to address the "uncapped" issue. Because of the bolt movement speed of most spoolies, YOU CANNOT FIRE 25+ BPS! Most markers these days are NOT designed to shot over 20 bps, because almost every league is capped at 15 or less. If you want to run uncapped semi, set it to 18 or 20 bps. Anything more than that is asking for trouble -_-

I received my Vapor the other day from theotherathlete!! Im in the UK and they are pretty rare at the min Its gonna get hammered this weekend. Gonna have a look and see if i can tune it to your adjustments. The board is a little complicated as i've only ever had ego's.
Its good to be in the gang.

ok
replaced 017 o-ring in front of the feedneck seemed to have actually solved my breaking/chopping paint issue, also replaced the 14x2 bumper o-ring the previous one i noticed my bolt was sticking to it (i have no clue why but the new one doesn't do that)
I loaned my marker to my friend for saturday 11/3/2012 rec play (he'll be using it sunday as well 11/4/2012, will post any updates if there is any)
Did test fire the marker in the morning but the temp out side was 52 degrees (still using summer paint) and used some of my friends paint that sat in the car over night which cooled below 48 degree's (made the paint super brittle)
Paint used was valken redemption and valken redemption pro
in the morning we shot 12.5 bps ramp and 19.5 bps ramp (just to try a extreme cycle rate to see if it would chop)
Had 2 barrel breaks but that is most likely result of the cold weather
My friend field tested the marker and had no breaks or chops
Night test used Valken redemption pro (2 pods) only at 19.5bps ramp
One barrel break, last ball seemed to have bounced a little and clipped the top of barrel and broke, no paint on detents or in breach/feedneck
Settings
Dwell ~ 14ms (stock + 2ms)
Ball delay ~6ms
ABS ~ 2ms
bolt return ~ 27ms
Bolt ~ Pooty flat face
Barrel ~ .689 Dye 2 piece ultralite
Detents ~ stock (no spring modifications)
Lube ~ dye slick (i did have to put lube on the bolt it self to lube the rear feedneck oring in the breach, had a small leak before but that sealed it up)
Field Chrono was between 275~285 (that's what my friend told me lol)
So far it looks like the front 017 o-ring seems to have been giving me the headache, I'll update if something happens tomorrow (11/4/12)

Settings don't matter if your engine is stiff. If you haven't lubed your drivetrain, you'll have to turn up your HPR a lot which can lead to barrel bursts. If you flick your engine and the bolt doesn't move, you need to re-lube the bolt.
