if it weren't for the fact that soccer is the most poorly officiated sport in the world, the US would have advanced in the last WC. Unfortunately, its horrible traditions allow the one official to ruin games.
See: Chelsea vs Barcelona handball a few years back.
Not to mention, the horrible timekeeping where they don't just count DOWN and stop the clock, instead, they count up and guess at how much time should be added one. Just allows time wasting and bad officiating to ruin the sport.

Thank god for ****ty officiating (and Japan). Those are the two things that kept soccer from being the next big fad in america.
