Reposted from old thread:
Gentlemen,
After discussing with Matt and a few of the guys on the team, we put together a schedule of drills for practice this weekend.
First off, this weekend each of us will have 3 cases of paint: one case for drills Saturday and two for scrimmages Sunday. With limited paint for both drills and scrimmages, we will all be setting our guns to 11.5 bps. Realistically, this difference will be minor and we will get much more out of practice.
With the first case of paint (~13 pods) on Saturday, we will be dividing the drills up by number of pods per drill. Below is the schedule for Saturday:
Drills
If possible, meet at the hotel at 3. We will head to the field from there.
1. Warm up and stretch.
2. Run and Gun (2 pods): Running from corners up tape to sideline 50 shooting target at center of field.
3. 1 vs 1 Stationary Snap (1 pod): Basic 1 vs 1 gun fighting and watch each other/talk about different styles/techniques.
4. 1 vs 1 Small Field (2 pods): Basic warm up still focusing on sharp gun fighting but including moving.
5. 2 vs 2 Small Field (2 pods): Focusing on communication while including everything so far.
6. 2 vs 2 Race to 50 Snake/Dorito (2 pods): Starting 2 vs 2 in snake/dorito corner and snake/dorito feeder push up to 50 snake/dorito. Drill ends when someone reaches 50 snake/dorito.
7. 5 vs 5 Full Field (4 pods): Focus again on communication but as a full line and talking/relaying across field. Afterward we can talk about the layout and pros/cons about different bunkers/plays.
As long as things go well Saturday, we will keep the bps at 11.5 for Sunday.
Here are a few things we should all keep in mind for this first practice:
Teamwork
1. Listening to each other on and off the field:
Getting to know each other on the field will be huge. While drills are going on everyone should be involved to get a feel for how we all play.
2. Watching and learning from each other on and off the field:
Again, we will all benefit from getting to know how each of us plays.
3. Looking for opportunities to help each other on and off the field:
Everyone should be involved in helping each other out and focusing on how we can build solid lines. We all have a lot to bring to the table.
In short, regardless of individual skill, a team that cannot communicate and work together has little resistance against those that can.
Individual Skill
1. Gun fighting
2. Running and gunning
3. Reading the field and constructing break-outs/plays
We all have rust to shake off, so let’s start the season making good habits a habit.
Overall, I think the optimism everyone has shown so far has been well appreciated by everyone. 2012 is looking to be a good year.

Guns and Pwer Cores are done and paid for. Drew will be making arrangements to pickup and bring them to Warzone.
Max, pick which Clown Gun you want and I'll take the other one. Drew, Thanks for picking these up. Also, set mine up for USPA rof.

Drew we have it broken down by pod for a reason. We have budgeted to use 1 case of paint per person for the drills shown. We originally had a box drill in but eliminated it for other drills that cover the same skill set but are more valuable for other reasons. If you want to do more drills it costs more $. Running is fine to add provided we have time to get through what we already have scheduled.
