You can go to a lot of schools with a 33 on your ACT though I don't know how one could predict that.

go into mechanical engineering from there you can virtually do anything and go into almost any other field. also your 4 year degree if you choose to can be completely unrelated to a major you pick as a graduate. for example one of my friends did 4 years as electrical engineering then he went to law school. also if your interested in the arts, audio technologies, or business my university is highly renowned in those three majors.

pre-ACT that high schools give out. I took mine as a joke and ended up with a predicted 10 on my ACTs. I did a lot better than that, lol.

I'm at Niagara University, I'm a Finance major, and I just got a job as a Finance Intern for a financial advisement company. I will be a junior next year.

Think about what your parents/friends/family/etc are doing and maybe you'd like to go into one of those fields? My dads a commodities broker, moms a nurse, uncles an electrician, friends are english majors, etc. I didn't/don't want to do any of that, so I go to/graduate next week from an art school (columbia college chicago) studying television directing/production and already work in TV because I want it. (entry level positions of course).

If you find what you TRULY want to do in life, you'll do fine. If you go to school for something that is just whatever to you, you'll probably be overlooked by people who truly want it.

At least in my case, I go to school with people/know people that have graduated with my same exact degree, and don't do anything at all in TV/Film and don't have a single professional credit and end up working part-time jobs to get by.

If you are predicting a 33 on your act, then obviously you're a smart fellow, and can take on probably any career you want.

tldr; find what you really want to do and go get it.

I just graduated and was in the same position as you. I really didn't have much of a desire to go to school until about 3 months before my HS graduation. I applied to UCF for the summer semester and fell in love with it. I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I started off as business. The first 2 years of your academic career is all general education so you can feel free to take some classes and get a feel for what you like.

Wrapping up the end of my second year, I took a course in Statistics and really enjoyed it. I figured what the heck, I'll change my major. I went in for business, after 2 years switched over to statistics with a minor in mathematics and now I work at a software company (having taking only one computer science class).

My advice - Pick something general for your first two years (you won't be taking your specialized classes until after your first two years). Use this time to take some different classes. If you like something, look into it and follow some course of action.

The truth is that a large majority of graduates aren't getting jobs in their majors anyways. Employers are looking for 2 things:

Did you take the initiative to finish school and
Did you find something and stick with it

For the most part, you'll be trained in anything you do, but for the most part, the whole college experience is to teach you how to think, regardless of what you choose as a major.

Don't forget, have a blast!
