I thought they made you buy paint at registration? I think you're able to use any Pevs paint. They were supposed to get the new procaps stuff in for this weekend.

I doubt you'll get a lot of pushback as long as you have Pev's paint. They've had so many different cases/types through there in the last month alone. The ProCaps stuff is supposed to be pretty good though. I think the only hassle you'd get is if you have the winter shell/fill marballizer.

I will clarify this today. This will be a Pev's management question and I don't have much say. I will post around noon as to what the answer is.

Any Pev's purchased paint will be allowed at the event. So if you have paint leftover from the last time you played at Pev's, you can use it. Also, the paint sold at the field will be the new Pev's Draxxus paint. It is similar to what Xball bronze used to be. I have not shot it yet, but it looked pretty decent. The tourney paint is orange fill. See everybody tomorrow! Make sure you are at the captain's meeting. We will be discussing rules and format in addition to the regular stuff.

Thanks to all the teams that came out and fought the incredible heat today. It was a GREAT event. I hope everybody agrees.

It was a good event for sure, Bobby. I have never seen a tournament run the games that quickly, and that's even more impressive given the oppressive heat of the day. Overall, the event was well-managed and well-officiated.

My only gripe (because I have to have one, right?) is that I don't like the style of D4 - D1. I think there's a huge gap between D4 and D1 and my team got scheduled against some tough teams that very much outclassed us. Can't complain too much, however, because it was a free event, but I wouldn't mind paying a bit to get some divisions.

But ultimately, good event. Well done. Congrats to all the teams.

Yeah we were hoping to have enough teams for 2 divisions. One for true beginners and one for open. If we enough then we would have ran 2 fields. But since only 1 team had signed up for Beginner, we had to cancel the division. But I too am hoping that for the next one we can run 2 divisions so that the players who are newer to tournament paintball do not get thrown out against people who have been playing tournaments for 10+ years.

agreed, but not even the gap between d4 to d1.. my team, under the rules for PTS that had been established, should have technically qualified for beginner. We were a put together team, at the last minute, and then in the actually tournament, we are scheduled against Static and Malicious Black.. I mean, we had fun and it was an experience but it was a bit unbalanced. There were other teams there that I saw that we should have been put up against, that were more of our qualifications, guys and girls that were not a real team, were not ranked, maybe have never played in a tournament, that kind of thing. However, we got a by as a well, which was unfortunate, we came to play and then we got scheduled against two stronger teams, not to mention we couldnt even play our other match cause they didnt show. All in all, it was a great day other then the heat. The 2 divisions would have made it a perfect event for us, instead of an alright one.

I agree with wanting 2 divisions. The plan was to have 2 divisions, but from what I was told by the proshop, only 1 beginner had signed up by mid day Sunday, so they cancelled the Beginner division. For the next one, I am going to petition to have 2 divisions regardless of the amount of teams. We can just set different prizes. I honestly think that since it is a free tournament, that most players do not care too much about prizes and would rather play teams of their own skill level in order to have more fun. My goal for the next one is to have 2 divisions if at all possible. I will make it happen.

I will try and post a date for the next one soon.

Hopefully you get a better turnout next time and can populate more divisions.

I had a great time on Sunday, despite the heat. The fast paced way the games were run was new to me and I loved every minute of it.

The only problem I had was getting a bye, then having to play probably the two best teams there. It would have been great if you could have done a D6-D4 division and then a D3+ division. I would absolutely be willing to pay an entry fee if that was the split, otherwise, i'm not sure I want to spend my money to potentially get **** on by people that are far better than me. just my $0.02

Thanks again for a fantastically well run tournament.
