I agree with that statement. I need a ring upgrade, a weapon upgrade, and a solid shoulder or head upgrade would be pro.

Therein lies the problem. The only gear I have that will even be remotely helpful is my belt, weapon and shield. Everything else needs to be upgraded badly.

You pretty much have to keep the elites off the screen while kiting. I don't know what class you are, so I don't know if you can do so... but that's what I've found... and even then I almost never get them down in one try. I need more dps. :s

The biggest *****es are the teleport or mortar elites. Those are always....fun.

Great haha....i've been playing through a1, about 3/4 the way through and it honestly sucks (solo). Im a wizard so its nice when I play with my friends since one of them is a barb who tanks and is decent at it so I don't die as often. I almost have a million in gold so I guess I should spoil myself in ah for some new gear. And honestly kiting only gets you so far, unless I just really suck

You should be able to snag a 1200 or so top damage staff off the AH for ~200k, you are definitely going to need more than 900dps for inferno though. I currently finished act 1 today with 27k dps and 35k health, don't worry too much about resistance just use force armor or w/e that is with prismatic to get bonus resist.

You essentially should never get hit more than once, you only need to survive one or two shots and the rest of the time you are kiting.

You should be using energy shield with force armor, not the resist one.

I wish I had more time to play, I've got a lot of catching up to get to where you guys are. I'm attempting to solo with a Monk and am currently at the Belial battle in Act 2 of Nightmare. I feel like I'm going to have to break my rule of only playing with gear that drops rather soon here because champ mobs are wrecking me.

I have to agree! I'm certainly not looking forward to the next hack-and-slash I embark on where I have to think about how to spend points and then go through a tedious process if I don't care for the build.

The good news is that, because of Diablo III and the fact that (I think) they are implementing the same system into WOW with the next expansion, we will see it a lot more in RPG's from now on.
