I played once a month for the past few years, but now that I bought a house near a field I'll be playing almost every weekend.

no doubt had some of the best times off my life. But when I look back at it now.. Spending $60-80 on paint is a bit silly. Let be honest, how many of those balls actually hit your opponent lol.

But when I was 13-17, definitely best times of my life.

Of course not. People only played paintball in its golden years, 2000 - 2004. Since then, paintball is completely dead.

Right?? lol let me spend $70 on paintballs and out of the 2000 Im gonna waste 1900 shooting an inflatable device, while probably actually hitting 10 people max and shooting 90 for the fps test and pregame shooting.

Fun. But way to expensive and I didn't want to drive 60+ minutes just to play for 50 minutes and sit around for 2 hours.

that was their downfall.. If paintball werent $60+ and were $20 then it would be reasonable.

I play twice a month due to transportation not funding and how much you spend on paint vs how much actually hit people depends on play style. I go and get one case of 100 first strike rounds and I eliminate roughly 50 people and only use 10 rounds to chrono. And I still go home with 30 to 40 first strike rounds at the end of the day. But I have also gone to events like Army Men hosted at the D-Day field and shot 4 cases of roundball(normal paintballs) in one day. It's all a mind set on/and how you wanna play.

$40 a case pre-ordered, for $75 dollar paint. Don't ask me how cause i really don't know how they pull that off. Ya driving sucks, siting around sucks, but when your doing all this with close friends / team mates and having a good time its well worth it. I spent under $150 and had a blast can't wait to do it again. I also expected it to be MUCH more expensive, which i'm sure it is if you advance past the prelims.

If you could get everyone on the same page to get out there at the same time, take as little time between rounds, and focus on actually playing as much as possible it'd be much more worthwhile. Good luck with that though.

I played from 2000/2001 to 2009. I shudder when I think of how much money I spent on that eight or nine year period with nothing but memories to show for it.

I did enjoy all parts of it though, from the traveling with friends, to spending weekends in hotels and at tournaments all over the state, doing stupid **** that we definitely should have gotten arrested for and are lucky we didn't die doing... So much dumb stuff. Hood surfing, rolling around tournaments with six people packed in my Toyota and another four in the open door frames, along with one or two on the trunk. It's a wonder the car moved at all lmao. Turkey bowling. Taking the styrofoam Halloween swords and axes and having fights with them. Playing Civil War and SWAT (get wooden dowels and shove Nerf darts down the barrel of your gun and turn it up to about 350fps) in hotel hallways, balconies, and parking lots... that was all fun until somebody starting putting thumb tacks in the end instead of whistler or suction tips.... and it goes on and on and on.

I started playing when i was 9 and i stopped when i turned 17, however every since i stopped playing i felt like there was a part of me missing ( as dumb as that may sound) but this past weekend i went out and played, and it just felt like everything was back to normal. So pretty much if you've got the money go for it, but if you don't than its understandable.

The sport has definitely died down a bit, but it absolutely is not dead. I'm just gettin back into it after a nearly 6 year break and it's the best feeling to have that same type of excitement and adrenaline boost in me like i got when i was 15 or 16. Sure, money was one of the main reasons I had to break (along with college), but it's good to be able to afford it again.

It's not a "waste" if it's something that brings you pleasure. Sure you may pay $100 on a weekend and walk away with nothing but welts and memories, but to me fun times like that are worth $100.

I"m trying to get back into it, but its a convenience thing most of the time. I try to be committed but as soon as football season rolls around I dont wanna do **** on Sundays anymore except watch football...which is obviously a tremendous conflict of interest.

That being said...I keep lobbying for my next company outing to be paintball...just because I want to inflict as much physical pain on my coworkers and superiors via triple tap to the back of the dome and overall over shooting.
