DLX LUXE vs. Machine Paintball Vapor
Hey guys I'm interested in either a DLX Luxe 2.0 or the new Machine Paintball Vapor. I have shot a luxe before and they are smooth, nice and smooth, I however know nothing about the Vapor. So my question is what are your opinions on which one is better?

Price is not an issue, I just want to know opinions about the actual guns not which is better in price.

All of the Vapor fans are going to get but hurt, but you are better off going with the Luxe. The Luxe is a proven platform, and they have great customer support. The people behind the Vapor are not the most trustworthy people. Although I have seen them and shoot nice.

These are both my favorite guns and I have owned both
In my honest opinion I feel like the vapor shoots a little smoother, better on air, and I have yet to see any with fsdo unlike the luxe where I feel like every other luxe has that issue.
But either gun you can't go wrong with I just favor the vapor over the luxe

I too am interested. I hope there's more info about the vapor because everyone that voted luxe so far are all part of the luxe mob or owners of the kucpxe, it seems they have favoritism.
I'm not bashing your opinions and I apologize if it comes off that way. I, just saying I would like a few more opinions that can balance out the information and opinionnbase

Overall value the vapor out weighs the luxe. Luxe may have the name and the establishment but thats not something I would say makes the Luxe a better gun. Price wise I mean really once you put the pooty mod in the Luxe youre already at 1600 with the gun and thats if you bought the regular 2.0 and not a special edition or special color they did one run on.
Lets be blunt, if youre in the 1500 dollar price market anyway...150 dollars isnt gonna break the bank.
Performance its really all going to come down to preference, they are so close in comparison in that aspect it really is hard to say. Break down and maintenance, the Vapor is more simple according to what they are saying the vapor thread in the news sections.
Ive, shot and played with all the Luxes from 1.0 to 2.0 and with the pooty mods and really at the end of the day between those guns and the vapor...if Machinepaintball can get well established DLX will actually have some competition. So to really answer your question...you cant go wrong with either. Play with one...trade it for the other and find out which one you're more fond of.

Luxe:
Pros:
Proven established company behind it.
Dealers are more common, so parts and tech service is more available.
Proven design that has worked for several year.
Comes with good case, rechargeable battery, stock barrel
Slightly cheaper
decently easy to maintain
Cons:
No LCD board (talking board is a preference thing)
Only one barrel insert
high price
very long in the hands, so the egronomics can be weird for players not used to it.
Not as efficient as other spools (about 8 pods from a 68).
Vapor
Pros:
Very smooth and decently efficient
Comes with full barrel kit and two triggers
LCD screen
decently easy maintenance
Comes with a nice case
Cons
Price for a gun (1650)
New company
New design gun, so kinks may or may not be worked out
Not many dealers yet so tech support could be good or bad (though I know shootnpoo here on pbn is top in CS)
no manual with gun
I don't own either cuz I like my poppet markers, but I have used both. The Vapor felt more comfortable in my hands compared to the luxe (I'm a smaller guy, only 5'8"), I liked having the LCD screen, and the barrel kit was a plus. Advantage to the luxe is more people are familiar with it, so if anything happens, tech support will be faster. That may change with the vapor, but right now the dealers are still coming in and not up to full strength yet. Like Markey said, you can't go wrong with either, so see if you can try each one out first then make your decision.

It's not that the name make's the Luxe a better gun, It just gives you the peace of mind that the company you are giving $1500 will be there to help you when you need parts, or service.
Im not bashing the Vapor it shoots great, but a couple years from now when Machine Paintball has closed up shop and moved on to their next project leaving all of the Vapor owners high and dry you will be glad you bought a Luxe. The people behind Machine Paintball have done it many times.
For that price range I would also recommend the Macdev Clone Gt. Those things shoot tits.

I deal with both DLX and Machine paintball. DLX as we all know is at the very top at customer service.
But at some point every company (Even Mine) had to start and grow. If companies don't get sales then they can’t grow. Or people who take a chance with them.
The vapor board is a ape board. I even heard you can use other boards just fine in it. Also the noid is the same noid used in dye guns. So if those two things ever go out when your gun is out of warranty then those are easy to find. Service centers are already in place in the USA.
Both are very nice guns and I am glad you’re looking into either one. Both you can’t go wrong with and will be happy either way.

1. I agree but, unfortunately many people see only what the name is and will assume its better. I wasn't trying to come across ignorant and say that "Well the Luxe isnt better because of its name" or "The Luxe is better because of its name". Not saying your bashing the product either I was basically stating my own opinion not personally attacking you, so I apologize if you took it that way.
2. Granted some of the company's people have had a bad track record in the industry. However you cant just jump the gun and say thats what will happen...no one counted on Smart Parts folding like a tent, but it happend, and what I mean by that is no one knows what will happen in this industry.
Its so up and down GREAT companies have closed there doors in the past leaving owners "high and dry".
I like both markers equally and wouldnt mind having both of them in my arsenal.

My review might shed some light onto the topic. I've owned the first two versions of the luxe (1/1.5) and eventually put a 2.0 core in the 1.5
http://www.pbnation.com/reviews/prod...intball_vapor/
I personally like my vapor more than my luxe, but then again, I've never really liked the luxe as much as most people have.
from my spoolie experience:
Vapor > Clone VX > Luxe (2.0 core)

Ok, ive been pmed and asked this question a thousand times
luxe is smoother then all of them.......My vapor only worked 2 times out of the 5 times i went to use it, yes i finally got it fixed but the guy i sold it too had a **** ton of problems with it after me......My gt shot good, but wasnt as smooth as my luxe, it was damn close but at the end of the the day i still think my luxe was my favorite out of those 3 with the clone close behind.
The vapor is no doubt a good gun but their are several qwirky things that i hated.
ex
air blowing out the back was a large amount so much that it bothered me
I was replacing the rear breech oring every other case
I kept turning the eyes off and on
the board isnt my favorite
i could go on for days about this but im not going too

I've owned a luxe for over 2 years now and by far I have yet to find a gun that can replace it. I shot a Vapor last month and they shoot great although I didn't like the feel of it compared to my luxe. The Vapor felt cheaply made and not as solid as my Luxe. I am going to wait for the Vapor to continue to drop its price then I will pick one up. Just Think of it, the Luxe 1.0 is holding its value pretty well compared to other 2009 guns out there.
That's my 2 cents
That's my 2 cents on it.

I'm glad people brought the Clone GT into this. This is an exciting topic as I am researching all three of these. Not so much the Luxe, but the Clone GT and the Vapor for sure and anything else in the category. What else deserves to be compared here?

smoothest spoolies (somewhat ordered):
Chrome/Chrome2, Vapor, Luxe2.0, GT, VX, V2, demon, droid, Ion/SP1/Extcy, DM8-12.
<= smoother / rougher =>
GEO is a dump valve in my books so I'll leave that off the list...but it would be after the DMs

^^^^ the luxe is slightly cheaper than the vapor, but it is still a high priced marker compared to other spools on the market like the GT, Dm12, or Demon.
