picked this LCD up for $50/ looking for advice

I picked this up from a friend for $50. he just wanted it gone. I dont know anything about Angels this is my first one, but I couldnt pass this thing up since I wanted one since I was a kid and these came out and were the crap in the paintball "old days" for me.
He said it needs a battery/ charger and he said the board works but its "locked" whatever that means and needs to be "unlocked" to use. the tank needs hydro so Ill get that done, but as far as the gun goes I dont know anything about them so does anyone have any tips on what I should look for/ do to get this thing going? I'm famillier with Matrixes and paintball guns in general so I have a good understanding of the basic workings. Any comments praises or advice are welcome I just wanted to show it off.

*also* I took the bolt out and its pretty bone dry and the inside looks scratched up. is this a big deal?

As long as the board isn't fried and can just be reflashed or unlocked w/ a datalink, you should be good to go... battery's can be had on fleabay or here on pbn/aog...

Take your bolt out and put a finger down the rotobreech, does it feel rough and jagged or is it smooth and just has normal bolt wear? Typically the bolt just needs to be cleaned w/ warm water then dried afterwards and should be good to go, but if it has imbedded dirt/sand/debris on it then it needs a more thorough cleaning. If the bolt/breech needs to be cleaned, then you need to run through the gun and give it a good once over as well, make sure theres nothing else he missed...

DO NOT OIL/LUBE YOUR BOLT, IT WILL SWELL O_O!!!

*ARGH, ANOTHER EDIT* Nice find tho for 50 bucks, gotta love friend prices.

if your bolt feels really rough and gritty, sand it down very lightly with a light grid sandpaper. If you have money, try to find either a softface, cobra, or bonebrake bolt.

I thought sanding it down would only embed more debris into the delrin and cause more friction from the rough bolt surface...?

I never had problems on my old blue black g7 fly. That bolt came to me rough as mother nature. I sanded it down very lightly and washed it lightly in between sessions. That bolt felt smoother than a brand new bolt. I had Stefan/Dizzart there with me that day and he can vouch for me as he did it to his g7.

lewizz, if you dont feel comfortable, then dont do it. Buy a new bolt. But Im just saying from MY experience, i had no problems. It performed better than the rest of my private labels g7s i had.

Sounds good in theory, I just figured after so much rubbing and bending of the sandpaper you'd get the tiny grit embedded in the soft delrin, but if you've had success, it's obvious my worrys are unfounded.

if you get this working, it just cost you of the marker's value. In that model, working condition, I'd say $150 max.

No just LCD. You do better selling the equipment individually.

The gun definitely doesn't have eyes, so you'll want to set the ROF on your board to match whatever hopper you plan to use. For a revvy 10-11 BPS should be safe, just be sure to turn it on

Evo hoppers were common on Angels, as with Halos you can run into issues with the force feeding. A Vlocity might be a good balance, I never felt like mine were as fast as Halos.

If your interested take a look at this old article - it's a Dark LCD but it's the same year as yours...http://mcarterbrown.com/ravi/Article.../Dark_LCD.html

I found it charges good on 10-12 volt myself, but the doc may be of better assistance.

Oh and if your looking to sell it dont take any less than 200- if it works and includes the tank. Condition sensitive Angels command a premium!! Good luck.
