rear suspension (iirc) is a double wishbone while the front is some torsion beam thing or macpherson struts, amirite?

also ~1200kg, which is something. idk. 2774lbs iirc.

It's the FR-S, so somewhere north of $26,000 if it was new. Had this been the Subaru BRZ, it would've been $33,000 for the same car, different trimmings. Designed to bring back the feel of the AE86 Corollas, and makes use of a Boxer-4 to keep the weight lower to the ground. These cars handle phenomenally. New tires and a turbo do wonders.

200 hp @ 7000 rpm (12.5:1 compression!!). Basically NOTHING below 3000 rpm. But, that fits my driving style quite well, although I will admit after getting used to the torque curve of the 350, it took me a while to adjust to a car that has...well, a torque spike with nothing all the way up until it leaps up all at once.

Yeah, the whole <2800 lbs. is what sold me on the BRZ/FR-S. I actually liked the BRZ better, but none of the Subaru dealerships in the valley had one in stick shift that wasn't red.

Yes, front suspension is a McPherson strut setup. They do handle REALLY well. Despite giving up 30mm tire width (stock vs. stock) to the Z, and having an EVER so slightly longer wheelbase, they actually handle just as well as the Z. Can't get ANYWHERE close to keeping up (again, stock vs. stock) in a straight line, but I only care about how much fun I can have in turns anyway. And yes, as Yelo stated, the tires are STRAIGHT off the Prius S. I might consider upgrading the wheel/tire, but it handles well enough for me without upgrades. I also might do a Turbo/Super, but a bit down the line. For now it's staying stock since I really only drive it 1, 2 days a week at most.

This one with the manual transmission option was just over 26, with about 22 Financed after I added the appearance package, all scheduled maintenance for 5 years, and the theft package.

I drive a Honda s2000 so I can totally relate to the torque spike with nothing all the way up lol. I would LOVE to turbo my S... someday

BR-Z also has HID stock (if that makes a diff) a different suspension setup (much softer IIRC) with a bit more understeer. interior trim is different too. but under the hood, yeah its the same

Turbo sounds nicer though. And it all depends on tuning. Ever driven the insane FQ-400 EVO? 2.0 boxer (same size, not the same anything else as the FR-S/BRZ) producing 400 hp because of great tuning and a BIG HONKING turbocharger.

Subaru supposedly set it up to intentionally understeer so that it would feel more natural to current Subaru drivers (since AWD naturally understeer a bit).

The more I think about it, the more I prefer the FR-S. I like the front nose more, lower price (because the supply is higher), but I just wish you could get it in Subaru's Galaxy Blue.

I really wanted bright "burn your eyeballs out yellow" or a bright orange. But given that neither are available in that, I went with the best color IMO available, which was the burnt orange (Hot Lava in Toyota speak).
