So I placed an order for a 2012 OLED G6R and should have it next week. Right now I have a 68/4500 with a Ninja Pro Reg. Its set at 550 right now for the Luxe I have. Will the G6R operate fine at this pressure or should i chance something up?

Also, are their any upgrades that are recommended right out of the box?

You should be fine but it doesn't hurt to take the shims out and lower it further.

In terms of out of the box upgrades, the one I'd highly recommend is a pressure tester. When you get it, replace the stock gauges. From there, play with the marker a few times and determine whether or not the performance of the marker and your playing style warrants a different trigger, LP Poppet or 4C eyes.

Thanks for the help. I can use my 50/4500 as well but this isnt a Pro Reg. Would I be able to remove shims from this as well? What do you recommend me setting it at? (removing/leaving in how many shims?)

Whats wrong with the stock pressure tester gauges? Where can I get replacements at?

just take all the shims out of it and you will be just fine

the gauges don't have to be replaced but alot of people like to put Ashcroft gauges in their place for better readings

Right out of the box I would recommend to read the manual at least 3 times before touching anything on gun.

Call ninja and see if they will send you the longer reg pin, some g6r's (2011's for sure) are having issues with the ninja pro pin not depressing enough for an adequate air supply

I also have a tank right now that is set to 550 PSI (SMP). Do G6Rs operate ok with this pressure?

If it's the 550 SMP made for the Luxe specifically then that's not adjustable, it's fixed output.
Honestly I have a ninja that's set to 550 and I can't go any lower with it and I've used it on my marq ripper when I had it without issue. It shouldn't hurt anything at all.

The stock gauges of late seem to be faulty. The readings are inconsistent and lead to issues when you try to properly set up the marker. I've seen this in three or four local reg testers. Spend the extra $10-20 on better gauges.
