I feel like if I could have anyone else's job, it would be his. I have to assume he gets some sort of endorsements for advertising or product placement or something, there's no way he does all of that out of pocket.

Congrats!

In other news... this is now in my barn.

Full 5 axis with a trundle that goes on the bed.

Still need to get it wired up and running, but getting there.

I enjoyed it too - I just really wish the trailer didn't give away 99% of the movie.

is there a spoiler tag on pbnation?

Edit: Nope. I'll leave it at that then.

Sweet cheers. Pretty big prometheus spoiler ahead.

Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
Read an article in which Ridley Scott stated that "the event" that cause the engineers to decide we needed to be wiped out "about 2000 years ago", was that we crucified an emissary they sent to us to try and sort out our wars etc.

AKA... Jesus was an engineer.

It's a long, but interesting read. Needless to say, the whole thing is spoilers.

Also, just finished work on this video:

Was wondering i wasn't receiving notifications from this..

So, new MacBook pro. Am I right to be drooling over hardware or can someone make me believe that I'm wrong to?

I'm all ears.

I finally got a new job offer too! Very excited - 57% raise over what I make now, which is an insultingly low amount for what I do. Should be starting mid to late July sometime, just need to finalize the date and put in my notice.

It'll be nice to be able to afford to have kit runs made by someone else after I'm done the prototyping.

ElPanda, I watched one of the polarstar videos and the guy said they make their parts to 5 ten-thousandths tolerance levels. Was he misspeaking or do they actually keep such insanely accurate (for the purpose) tolerances? Congrats on the job by the way, should be pretty fun.

For most parts in the fusion engine they hold crazy high tolerances, even the new UFA we make (which is just a bottle adapter for a remote line) is held to very high tolerances

Perfect example, today I was making manifolds, and the only three dimensions we check are +/- .002 on those

So, uh, not sure if anyone cares, but I just happened across this on deals.woot: http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/ch...?culture=en-US

tl;dr- if your company/school/whatever has a volume licensing agreement with MS, you can probably get Office 2010 Pro Plus for $10. And to think I had considered "borrowing" the multi-activation key we used at work for machines that wouldn't be on the AD all the time...
