Guess if a trashed ASA is the case (and I'm starting to accept that it probably is) I'll just have to call and see if I can get it replaced. I'm just hoping they won't gouge me on price for being an idiot.
Bob Long doesn't gouge. Sounds like you bent the mount screws to the ASA a little and it's not letting the ASA mount flush and seal the oring.

Yeah said it would only cost like $35. Although I haven't gotten it yet and looking at my bank statement I don't see anything that looks like it around that time frame? Anyone know what it would show up as? Credit card over the phone always makes me nervous.

EDIT - also no email *sigh* guess I'll just have to re-order it and go another couple weekends without my new gun :/

If you have pulled out the ASA pin and the oring on the pin is not missing any sections, assuming you have the updated pin, then it would be the oring in between the frame and ASA. I have heard that it is technically a different size oring than what comes in normal g6r oring rebuild kits. I have a 10 times kit and fix everybodys g6r's around here and have only got a few to actually work a seal up properly without the correct size.

I had the same issue, the asa was loose and the oring wouldnt seal properly. Take the asa off and use a thicker oring that fits in the rescess and some dow 55. Tighten the asa back down to the frame.

Lots of great solutions in this thread, good things happening for prosterity in here.

As for me, a brand new ASA did the job, it was the kind with the newer pin design. Didn't try the new pin in the old ASA body but I doubt it would have worked with how bad it was leaking before. Let that be a lesson to anyone thinking of getting their 2011 g6r anodized; ask about getting that bottomline plugged. I bet it could be as easy as stuffing some greased cotton in where the tank pin goes while stripping.
