Not at all. The Druids accept the Big Bang, but we also accept the Big Crunch. The Druids believe that the Universe has been expanding and collapsing on itself infinitely. The Big Bang is viewed as sort of a re-birth.

As for the 2nd part of your post, the Druids view the Earth itself as being alive. There's no arguing that we are all children of the Earth - it is our lifegiver, and is deserving of our reverence.

I agree with you - "value" works much better than "faith."
so how does one ascend? It seems fruitless to ascend to.a higher plane of existence only to die with the Universal crunch. Wouldn't it be more logical to seek transcendence? Otherwise stated as a liberation from both being and not being?

You didn't get it either I guess.

Druids don't believe that ascended beings die with the Big Crunch. This would be like thinking that god and his angels die at the end of the world.

And what leads you to accept the Big Crunch theory, given all current scientific understanding labels it as an impossibility?

No, there are different planes of existance, more than just this Universe. Sort of a Multiverse.

I use the term "Big Crunch" because its about the closest concept to the destruction of the Universe there is. Look beyond the term itself and understand that the Druids see a continuous, never-ending cycle of the destruction and re-birth of the Universe. Call it Big Bang, call it Big Crunch, call it whatever you like.

So you have to keep ascending the multiverse lest you become destroyed by a "crunching" universe? Do you bounce back to another universe after it has been reborn? How many verses are there? How does each universe maintain the existence of ascended beings? How does each being ascend from verse to verse. Or plane to plane.

Could you explain what this "destruction" is?

As far as we know, the inevitable end of the universe is when so much time has passed that even the nearest atom to another atom is beyond the point of light being able to be shown from said atoms. Everything is so far apart from one another that it could be said nothing exists. I wouldn't label this as a destruction, as this matter still exists; it's just merely as close to infinitely apart as can be. There would be no interaction between even the smaller of materials.

I went here http://aoda.org/faq.html#3.

What I gather is that anyone can believe whatever they want so long as you believe in a vaguely defined nature spirituality.

They believe the universe is divine but let everyone define what divinity means to them.

1. No, once ascended, you are always ascended. You don't need to keep ascending.
2. Ascended beings can go anywhere they want.
3. Infinite.
4. I don't understand this question.
5. All ascended beings have the inherent ability of planar travel.

Are these planes contained within universes or are they independent? What generates these planes?

Again, all current scientific understanding says this is what will happen. Not a single shred of evidence supports a counter to this theory.

A few hundred years ago, all scientific understanding said that the Earth was flat. And at the time, not s single shred of evidence countered it.

And in less than a hundred years ago, the Big Crunch theory was still valid. Like the flat earth theory, it's been discarded after evidence has shown otherwise...

Sorry but this is a pet peeve of mine. The idea of a flat Earth was way out of date by the middle ages and virtually no educated person believed it. Since the Greeks we believed the Earth was spherical.

Wat? Aristotle thought the Earth was round in the 300's BC. That flat earth crap is a myth. Hell Isaac Newton argued against the Earth being spherical because in order for his theory to work out the Earth had to have an oval shape with the Equator being longer and that was the mid 1700's.
