Chopping balls when shooting fast
So after fixing my upside down bolt, I got to play on sunday. The gun shoots great but I noticed that when I was really ripping it, I would break a ball. I couldn't tell what from but my instincts say from the loader. I'm using a Halo B loader and I'm wondering if it's not good enough for the G6R. I was using a pillow bolt with Hostile Lava paint. Any other ideas?

Make sure all board settings are at stock. To low of a bolt delay will cause chops.

It is stock. I even reset to factory settings and it still chops.

The halo could be putting to much pressure on the stack

Is it chopping, barrel breaks, breach breaks, or something else?
If the tension or even speed, depending on the board in your halo, is too high and the paint quality and temperature it can crush the ball in the breech letting the next ball in and getting cut by the bolt.
A modern electronic marker shouldn't chop at all to be honest with an electronic loader.

No idea how to tell the difference. All I know is when the ball exits the barrel, it comes out in pieces and leaves a mess. I'm thinking loader tension fits the bill but I don't have the manual for the empire B2 board.

I just linked you to the Halo B's one (which is what you said in the first post) the Empire B2 board can also be found on pbsolutions.
EDIT: actually not it can't. here's the B2 manuals http://www.freak-magazin.tv/media/document/1606.pdf

Barrel breaks will leave paint in your barrel and the breach clean.
Breach breaks leave paint in the breach when the bolt hits the ball usually or right after the bolt hits it.
If the stack is being crushed when you break a ball, degass your marker, remove the barrel. Check the barrel to see if the paint is just breaking in the barrel. Then look inside the breech, remember degass the marker and keep your mask on when you do it, and see if there is a clean ball in position or if there are pieces of shell from a crushed ball beneath it.
Now the other thing is you could have some slightly out of round paint and the barrel bore is too small. What bore barrel are you using and have you tried a bigger bore barrel?

Ok it sounds like a barrel break then. From what I remember, the breach was clean but barrel was mucked. I was using a .687 freak insert. The balls were snug but not too snug. The .689 would allow the balls to rolls right through.

Try a different loader. I never liked to sell B2's I thought they were a little rough. Lowest setting possible....
Sometimes its just the paint and theres not a damn thing you can do. But they do sound like barrel breaks.

That could be the issue there.
Slow it down to a standard 12.5 ramping, I'm assuming you're ramping, and see what happens. Or even just 15 bps ramping, that's as fast as you can shoot in a semi tourney for a bps cap.

I agree 100%. The other issue is that your Halo's eyes could be dying causing paint to be crushed intermittently going into the breach. Not likely but it could happen. If you have a Bolt Delay or Eye Delay setting on your marker make sure it's set to 15ms and make sure your detents are aligned correctly in the breach and the spring isn't kinked...otherwise the balls may be getting pushed past the detents.
