and NE... some of the nerds take it incredibly serious. They all jack off the emails they send each other on SIPRNET. I have heard stories :/

So, I sent a letter to a friend of mine going in the navy who is also a member of the TEch GDT. On the outside of the envelope I taped a punch of half dollar sized troll faces. We also had a thread going on in there where people were writting him stuff and a few people sent me PMs with letters as well. I printed all of that out, and in between all the pages, I stuffed lots more troll faces. He said he got it, and his instructor asked what the **** is this ****? Then when he opened it he said all the troll faces trololololold all over the floor and he got ITd (intensive trained) for it for 2.5hrs. I got a good laugh out of it.
Mission successful.

Nice pics Orvis. I tried to hit a boom on that thing's sim and it was pretty damn near impossible. But it was super easy to fly 30' off the ground.

I'm just curious because I want to see if intel officers take the callsign thing further than pilots even though the callsign is generally stupid and has no story behind it.

If it's a really good one it might become the only way you refer to that person, but it's not how they refer to themselves. We don't even wear our callsigns except on Fridays. Pilot training instructors and some fighter guys really get off on it though...
*Edit* - Just in case ya'll were curious: Mine is "Drive Thru" due to this incident -

They were on point, they pretty much plugged themself. But it was cool seeing their laser guidance system off the aircraft right, and I laughed at the one receptacle that was scratched to hell. Damn -135 booms.

so chances are you wouldn't be sitting in a VTC and hear somebody be like, 'hey Col so and so, this is Smokin." Or, 'Tiger here' A comm buddy of mine made the mistake of going to one of their get togethers and got named twitch because when he talks he for some reason has an eyebrow that is constantly bouncing up and down... The name "Jaysian" was thrown out as well because one individual thought that when he looks at him he looks Asian but has a Jewish last name. His last name is actually Polish in origin...

that's funny... If it makes you feel better they called me Casper in tech school because I'm fairly pale and didn't talk a lot. Few people know that and I promise a slow and painful death if anybody at my base starts to refer to me as such.

Haha Casper, at leats they thought you were friendly. Our pale kid is "Twilight" (given to him by an Indonesian Pilot).
And nope, none of the stuff you've mentioned goes on in my flying squad or our sister units out here.

I had no idea we lost some PJs a while ago
What are the green tipped rounds? We used AP/I (red/grey tipped) and isn't the purple for night vision tracer? Completely forget what black is

No idea. I know nothing about ammo
That aircraft went down a couple years ago iirc due to small arms fire at the anti torque rotor
